Sounds like it's time to LIFT BIG & EAT BIG. I just launched a new training site that contains training programs specifically for wrestlers looking to gain weight. The Mat Jacked training program would be perfect for you. You can learn more at the link below! www.thestrengthmatrix.com/what-is-the-strength-matrix

Hey, great video! For the caloric increase, should I keep it at +3500 for the entire bulking period, or do I increase that caloric intake each week? And for the maintenance period, how many calories should I cut from the bulking calories? Thanks for the helpful video!
@joshuasettlage3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Trey!! For bulking, I suggest only increasing if your weight has stalled for more than 2 weeks straight. Maintenance calories are going to be a little different for everyone so it's hard to give a specific amount of how many calories you should cut for maintenance. I would suggest entering a maintenance phase and weigh yourself every day. If your weight begins to creep up, start slowly taking out calories until you're at maintenance weight again. Your bulking calories will be something that keeps up consistent weight gain, and maintenance calories would be anything less than that, all while not being so low that you start to lose weight. :)

great vid ! Im' in the same situation i've lost 20 lbs and now want to get bigger 💪 but as a grappler i train like 4-5 times per week. Can i just add this musculation training to my schedule ?
@joshuasettlage3 жыл бұрын
Thank you bro! You can, but do be careful with how much volume you add to your training. You want to make sure you're not negatively impacting your jiu jitsu training.

Awesome. Currently i'm spending way more time on the mat (5 days a week). Considering i'm almost 40 and BJJ is very catabolic, would i still make some good gains following this ruleset? I'm thinking of packing a solid extra 5kg ( roughly 10lb) for the upcoming 6months-1year.

As long as you're getting in plenty of food and recovering well, it would work great!

@@humbleservant4402 muscle, 100%. More muscle means more strength. More strength when trained effectively, means more efficient movement.

Hey Coach, would you still follow this routine over a year later? Whats your view on how to bulk up at the moment? Specially during BJJ Training at the same time.
@joshuasettlage2 жыл бұрын
Overall, I would still use this approach. However, I would play around with the fat intake and suggest a range of 10-30% of daily caloric intake. This of course depends on the athlete and their preference of carbs vs. fat as a primary energy source for them.

Bro how much time you think people have got if they’re already grappling
