Nice video, moose are a passion of mine! Thank you for sharing! Does Sweden have many moose throughout?
@BushcraftSweden3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, it is said there is more moose than inhabitants in Sweden, not sure how accurate it is but it gives you an idea :)

@@BushcraftSweden Holy Smokes, that is fantastic! I would love to be there, even if it was just to scout and observe some of them. Do you hunt them, just curious, we do here where I live, but it is a Lottery system to be drawn for a Permit. Thank you for the info!!
@BushcraftSweden3 жыл бұрын
@@TwelvePointTroutOutdoors Yes we do and its aswell a necessity because there is not enough wolves to keep the numbers stables and they are too many, hunters need to take quiet a few every years to do that job instead..

@@BushcraftSweden Interesting, thank you for sharing. Makes for some good eating, fills the freezer, and helps maintain a healthier herd at the same time. Win Win. Curious if the wolves are hunted as well?
@BushcraftSweden3 жыл бұрын
@@TwelvePointTroutOutdoors Yes the wolves are also hunted and it still a debate every year how much we should take, thing is there is now more wolves in France than in Sweden.. about 500/ 600 if iam not mistaking which is not that much for the size of the forests here...

Where in Sweden is this? We've been trying since 2 months, haven't seen a single moose :(

Based on topography and the high power lines in the back, my best guess is that this is close to the lake Nödsjön. Just outside of Gothenburg.

Iam a lot in the woods, and I can say I meet 3 to 5 times a year elks, dont have my camera everytime but still fells quite ordinary.. think like this, even a good year it will take more than 2 months to meet 1 elk ;)
@BushcraftSweden3 жыл бұрын
One other thing iam thinking about, I ve encounter only once an elk when in the woods with my kids, or friends.. because in a group you are talking, and so most wildlife will go away before you even notice anything... going solo maximise your chances ;)

@@BushcraftSweden I am in the group now:) Actually only took a few minutes to find the place. I have figured out that you often are in the area of Gothenburg and there is a power line passing the area in the movie. And there are 2 big power lines passing trough the natural reserves east of Göta Älv ( and actually also passing my house). So i just followed the lines until I found a place where the map possibly could match the view. Then switch to aerial pictures to see if the swampy areas matched the movie, and it did:) But don’t worry, I am only a map enthusiast, not a stalker😉
