Rodeo bulls are not violent or aggressive. I was a vet tech for 12 years. We worked on many rodeo bulls. We'd get out to the pasture, call their name, and they'd come running. They would walk right into the shoot, we'd do our thing, give them a treat and release them. They were sweet babies.
@thisguyny83796 ай бұрын
Yes, but the act of bull riding is violent. The bull is trying to violently throw the rider. And in this case, violence was done to this rider, by this bull. I’m talking about the nature of their initial interaction vs where they are today.

It's not violent, it's a sport and bulls rightfully so don't know their own strength. @@billybattsshinebox8559Guess I’ll have to be the one to explain it. Bulls in rodeo and pbr events are scored and competing just as much as the rider. The ride is scored on both the ability of the rider by contrast to how the Bull performs. Makes sense, two separate living entities. Contractors take care, exercise and in some respects train the bucking bulls to do what it does. It’s treated, seen and respected as an athletes just as much as the rider. Tributes to the best performing bulls when they pass away commonly happen. Bushwhacker, LYJ, Red rock etc. Many bulls also have characteristic styles that separate them. Similar to athletes. Bruiser for example has an interesting technique where he doesn’t let his back half come down all the way. And before it does. He launches into the air again and goes backwards. Really messing up the timing and rhythm of the rider. Plenty of examples

@idontneednoritalin6 ай бұрын
I heavily agree and admire him for this but I’d like to point out something and I don’t mean it in a negative way but an introspective kind of way. I immediately thought of the fact that if the bull hadn’t been used for bull riders and or he would’ve chose something else to do for a career then they probably more than likely would have never crossed paths with each other. Meaning his neck wouldn’t have broke. The bull was behaving how bulls are supposed to and the guy was just doing his hobby/job. Neither or them wanted to hurt each other but he ended up getting hurt. If it’s anybody’s fault it’s his or the people who created bull riding but I assume that he knows and understands that already when others would and do just end up blaming the bull unfortunately. Again, I hope this doesn’t come across as hateful.

The bull....lesser, power than a frail mm
@jwill2946 ай бұрын
The bull is of greater power clearly lol
@InvadeNormandy6 ай бұрын
I like that the dim bulbs responding fail to realize that power isn't just muscle and natural brawn but abstract authority, intellect, decision making and potential outcomes being in your hands. (IE: You're the retired bullrider... YOU basically dictate what happens to em.) and the potential to apply great or terrible artifice. Anyone could have just hand waved and said "Put it down." or held a petty grudge and the bull would have been gone in under 5 minutes. That's the "lesser power" part, you sub 90s.

@litostakkz1879 a bull is frail compared to a Taurus 357. 😊

The word power is figurative like a CEO of a company treating his employees well, not power in physical strength. That's subjective to someone with power treating someone without power figuratively sense not physical.

Breaking your neck which in turn ended your career is a "positive" story? Really? Yes, this is a interesting story, but calling it positive is wrong.
@ProudAmericanPhil6 ай бұрын
@johnneal7169 is positive in the fact that the man held no resentment towards this animal and now has an amazing bond with this animal. To me personally, that is a pretty positive story
@CorundumDevil6 ай бұрын
That's a real man. He knew the risks, and just because it happened doesn't mean it's the bull to blame. Major respect, sir. EDIT: For everyone asking the exact same question, bad sports tend to blame everyone but themselves for their failings. A bad sport would have been bitter at the animal for the accident that occurred, even though the animal really doesn't have a say in the matter. The cowboy has every choice to participate or not. He was a good sport about everything and chooses not to associate the end of his career as some intentional malice on the animal's part. I'm pointing out that he lacks this problematic thinking, and I admire him for that. *_I refuse to explain further or answer the same question again._*

What do you mean? It’s the nature of the game, you can’t be mad at an ANIMAL for reacting when he’s on the bulls back, along with knowing the potential consequences. Its not like you can have a pre arranged agreement with the bull saying don’t hurt me the bull gets riled up and scared when your jump on the back that’s the nature of the sport so saying that he’s a forgiving person for forgiving the bull is kinda crazy the bull never asked for him to be on his back
