well, when you are a hungry shark anything looks like food. Bull sharks do attack in shallow water around late afternoon or early evening, especially near river mouth where water is disturbed and somewhat muddy. Australia probably has more issues with bullsharks than with Great Whites, speaking as a local.

@yejijang-jones64197 жыл бұрын
It' s just not just a couple of people. It's everywhere now and a lot of people are doing it. I dove in Cozmel where divers had been fed the sharks. One day hungry lemon shark (usually very shy) came to us and acting very aggressively. After our dive master gave some fish, it was happy and swam away. Sharks are not stupid. They learn from experience. It's no good if they start to associate us with food.
@linab49016 жыл бұрын
humans are stupid and then they cry because something happen and blame the animal....
@uwcb15 жыл бұрын
@@SnoweVR Its not about taming the sharks, its teaching them to look at people as a source of food. I've seen the results in multiple dive sites/locations across the Caribbean. Every place sharks had been repeatedly fed, they were coming closer to people and acting more aggressive than normal. Even just leaving dead lion fish on the reef was enough to change their behavior.

The curiosity about these cases is that all off incidents took place in a single beach. There has a perfect environment for these sharks and a perfect environment for accidents, like a cloudy shallow warm water.

These divers were lucky that sharks were not in a feeding frenzy. I20n 1966 I rode a small landing craft which ferry between some islands in the South Pacific. When we dumped the barrack garbage barrels into the ocean there were more than 30 White Tip, Blue and Tiger sharks chasing our boat to swallow all the garbage. Foods, woods, paper, bags, etc. were all swallowed in the feeding frenzy. Can you imagine a human fall overboard with the garbage ? Wild sharks are like wild hyenas, when they are hungry, all creatures are food.

I have heard that feeding sharks teaches them to associate people with food and could cause them to lose fear of humans and possibly attack more often. Any truth to this?
@toddzelin410310 жыл бұрын
Unlikely, does feeding your dog make him more aggressive? The only cases where feeding has led to increased attacks in wild life is when you change the habitat of the animal by overfeeding them near civilization. i.e. all the people who used to feed alligators with chicken right in your backyard in Florida, this of course led to more attacks because more people will coming into contact with the animals In general, with any animal you can think of, acting like prey or or like a threat will you get bitten else they will leave you be.

Still a dangerous species. Never panic against them, they are fishes, so they have fish instincts. Reaction strikes happen when they sense lots of movement. This is one of the safest ways for them to identify edible species (as inedible ones generally don't bother running). However, stay too still and they will come check out with a nibbling bite as well (though not a reaction strike, still potentially dangerous).

What is your problem, I mean you don´t do that to your dog, so why do you want to do it to a shark, or do you like that someone do that to you? I think you don´t

Bull sharks kill at least one person per year here in my state capital in Brazil, sometimes it is a tiger shark.

Did you know that you are more likely to die from a vending machine attack than from a shark falling on you?
@glenolson53610 жыл бұрын
John ": What drugs are on? Go in the ocean have a long swim see if you get crushed by a vending machine or bitten by a shark, I suggest the waters around Mexico or Austrialia

Holy crap, you have no sense of humor.

Glen Olson Nah its true actually.
@BlueWorldTV10 жыл бұрын
That's actually true. More people are killed every year by vending machines than sharks. In fact, lighting, stairs, bathtubs, bees, dogs, rhinos and icicles are all much more dangerous than sharks by statistics.

Teach the sharks to come to divers, and associate them with food. How about the next guy with no shark armor? Smart ! ! !
@toddzelin410310 жыл бұрын
Give the shark a little credit, they obviously swim by and get visual confirmation on the presence of fish before coming to get fed, and the only reason they come in the first place is the smell of wounded fish in the water.

Hey BlueWorldTV I have been watching your videos since you started uploading them (I had watched this one already). I have always felt that your videos are underrated and that they have less views than they should have. But I was looking at your channel and I noticed that this video is far passed the million views. Congratulations! I hope more people come here to learn about sharks and the ocean in general.
