Looks like it has become a yearly trip. Glad you enjoyed it. My wife & I moved here a couple years ago from NE Kansas. WOW !!!! Several things are similar - the weather - atleast the snow doesnt stay around for 2 OR 3 weeks. I'm used to fishing farm ponds & small city lakes. SO - Bull Shoals is a HUGE LEAP for us. The river is a totally different animal all together. We love the view from about anywhere down here. Nice fish - by the way !!! Until next time !!!

I can relate to this Adam. We have a world famous rainbow trout river here, and so many awesome lakes for fishing. When the kids were younger, we would go day camping and eat pan fried fish right out of the water. The good ole days for sure🥰. This video brought back some wonderful memories for me Thank you, and enjoy those rainbows, they are the best eating trout in my honest opinion. Cheers, Blessings 👏👏👍. ps Abby that picture is 'priceless'❤👍👍.

There is nothing better than fresh caught pan fried. I really want to do this, but I know my wife would be "nope". I just love how they work that place, the guides seem to be just AMAZING. I've been on more than one charter where the "guide" and "captain" are the same, and they are "you don't know what you're doing, get out of here". No, your job is also to help teach, especially since you said all levels from never fishing to experts are welcome. Lots of rude guides out there, so I'm really impressed with this place, they just seem to be really down to earth and WANT to help and teach! BTW: Roe is really good, especially FRESH Roe. It isn't for everybody, that's for sure.

The guides are here to take you fishing, teach you how to fish if you don’t know, help bait your hooks, safely remove the fish for you and even clean them if you want. From what I’ve seen all the guides there are great and will provide 1 on 1 service. Shawn was excellent btw! 👍🏻

@@AbomAdventures That's how it looked to me...So personable. I did a Salmon fish in San Francisco and the "guide" was a total a$$. Yelling at everybody, telling people if they don't know what they are doing to get in the cabin area and leave it to those that know. The deck cleared...he was such an a$$. The captain came out, grabbed him and then had everybody back out on deck. He "tried" to apologize, but yea...nobody was in the mood after that, and it was about $500 per head on that boat. Had a similar experience in the Great Lakes twice...Just makes for a lousy intro to fishing. If they hate their job so much, why do it then. I need to get my wife down there to try it, or my son and I can go and leave her at the lodge! :)

Abbey seems to be just like my late stepfather when it comes to fishing, When we used to go out fishing no matter how many people in the boat Gordon would be pulling double and triple headers while everyone else wouldn't catch a fish. We were sure he painted a target on his side of the boat!! He had the touch alright. That was around 40+ years ago I haven't fished in that long, I am also like Abbey I love animals to much, knowing that I am a carnivore, I live in conflict of hurting animals and needing to eat, so any pets or wild animals I have under my stewardship I they come first as I have taken on the responsibility of caring for them (he says with 4 geriatric cats born on my property 3 @ 22+ & 1 @ 23+) Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺

Me and my family went fishing on the white river a few years back. There was 6 of us and we caught over 150 rainbow trout in one day. Our guide just used canned corn and shrimp as bait which worked super well.

What an epic day of fishing! Good on ya both! Glad you saved the roe. My grandpa was mullet fisherman from the Homosassa area and we ate mullet dang near every meal. My favorite meal was when grandma fried up the yellow roe with grits.

Yep I grew up eating that. We had mullet often and anytime they had roe dad would keep it and fry it up too.

You've got to try just wrapping an un-filleted (but cleaned) rainbow in aluminum foil with a little mayo on the grill for a 5-6 minutes each side and peel the skin back and just eat away. Delicious. Good video and made my mouth water since I am a trout fisherman. I was there last year on a whim and certainly not dressed for the weather to go fishing. Stayed at a Gaston cabin one night. Plan to do a trip this year. It is a great river and location!
