After 2004 when last year I listened to this song almost after 20 years. The song still holds power to transform and beauty of telling a lot about life in simplest way. Bulle Shah wrote this poetry such amazingly that it is still relevant and will be forevermore. Hatts off to Rabbi Shergill for singing it so beautifully. It's because of his voice that I'm in love with this song.

Very good explanation. Here Bulleh Shah is also talking about inner consciousness which is separate from the outer material world. You can call it soul or consciousness. In one of his verse he says " Bulleh Shah asan marna naahi, gor paya koi hor" (Bulleh Shah, i am not going to die, there is someone else laying down in the grave). That means soul is separate from body. Even Musa (one of the most significant prophets) and Firon (pharaoh) are no more. They were only identities. The only thing that remains is the divine or the supreme consciousness, some call Him God, Bhagwan or Allah.

I would like to see more of these kind of song review videos. Keep brightening your inner light. More people will join your channel as the urge to get at the roots of their existence grow in them.
