Pre-ordered this many years ago, amazing shooter!! Actually I own Mushihimesama (figure version), Espgaluda II, Dodonpachi DaiFukkatsu, Guwange and TriggerHeart Exelica!! All awesome shooters I would recommend to anyone.

I retired the phrase once the channel hit 1000 subscribers. I wanted this channel to reach that milestone for a really long time. I shouted out this channel many times, but despite that I don't think I'm directly responsible for getting the channel to that point. I'm just simply happy he got to that point and a lot of people seem to be enjoying his channel as well.

I didn't like this game at first and shelved it for MONTHS. Just decided to play it again tonight and I honestly have no idea what in the hell is wrong with me. Right off the bat I was thinking to myself that this game rules. I played through it twice in a row and I'm blown away by how awesome this one is. So of course I obviously came right to this video to see what you guys said about it. It's like some of the most fun I've had with a Cave game and that's saying quite a lot since I like almost everything they do.

Region free we have Mushihimesama Futari, Espgaluda 2, Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets, Dodonpachi Saidaiojou, Bullet Soul, Eschatos - these are all the region frees I know of.. Akai Katana in Europe is region free that US players can get (but we in Europe didn't get Raiden IV, Deathsmiles 2, Raiden Jet - pretty gutting!). Also there was Shooting Love 10th Anniversary region free as well thinking about it (but sadly not the first 200X version). If you know of any others please let us know! :)

I already have this, and I love this game to death. I've been trying to get my family to allow me to get a low-price gaming LED TV so that I can try my hand at scoring at this game and Mushihimesama HD.

I respect the fact that it is one of the few region free shooters for the 360 since the 360 especially in japan has really taken the ball and ran with it with regards to releasing physical copies of shmups. However if I let one import sneak through the cracks with regards to my hobby than many more will as well. I have to stay strict with regards to collecting because of the amount of space I have and respecting my wife in the process. I have no issues grabbing this on an IOS device though.

Great review! Mushihimesama Futari is one of only two Xbox shmups I've never gotten around to being able to play. I could import it in a flash, but unfortunately my country have been trigger happy on customs fees for a while, making importing risky on the wallet, despite its good price. On topic of Cave shmups - has there been any word as to whether Dodonpachi Saidaijoujou will receive Daifukkatsu treatment? Importing can range from $100-$200 depending where you look - i.e. not wallet friendly

Phew, finally caught up, haha. I took a little break from KZbin a while back so I was reaaaaally behind on BHS4. As always, you guys put on a great, quality show. Even though I'm not a shmupper, I can't help but watch the show just for the presentation and all the information found therein. I think that's two songs in the last few videos I didn't recognize! Meteoric and the ending theme to your latest mobile BH (can't recall the name right now). I'm about to listen to your newest tune!

We've only ever played Futari on 360, but having played both of the iOS versions, I still prefer Futari purely from the presentation. Mushihimesama "vanilla" is more approachable for a 1CC though.

Daioujou had a much better flavor than Saidaioujou, for sure. It felt more like a DDP game should, and there was way more animation to the bosses and enemies. I was less fond of OG daioujou's OST. Overall though, I prefer DaiFukkatsu.

Question- I just bought a used copy of this on Amazon. Seller said it included a unused code for the 1.1 dlc. Do you know if the DLC code can be redeemed on an north american xbox? I know the game itself is region free but I dont know about the dlc and just want to be sure. Good day to ya Ser Flash!

The DLC will most likely only be accessible through a Japanese account, but they are pretty easy to set up.

If the review did not emphasize it enough, I would like to emphasize that this game is extremely fun. This game is tremendously playable and enjoyable, even when it's completely destroying you at the harder difficulty settings. I've played a number of shooting games now and this remains among my favorites.

Actually saidaioujou is region free title, so Cave has no real reason to localizes it. I don't know if you know this, but the XBox One is going to be a region free system, so technically speaking, it will make getting SHUMPS easier to get, but that if developers on those games are going even make XBox One game at all.

Serraxor, I think you should have made it clear that the Black Label DLC is available on all region marketplaces (despite the game itself, strictly seeing a Japanese release). Also, just a minor correction: In 1.5 only Ab Reco's speed functionality is different (Laser for high speed, Auto Fire for slow) which is why she's the hardest character to use. Ab Parm plays identically to Nor Parm.. the difference is in shot format and damage output.

Does the Black Label DLC patch in an English translation, since I would be downloading it in the US? It says in the overview that the DLC "supports English", but I don't really understand what that means here. It could mean that it's translated, but it may just be that they substituted "English" for NTSC, i.e. North America. Anybody know?

I don't actually know the answer to that; we only have the Japanese disc version. I imagine that the translated Black Label data exists in the English DLC version with the Black Label content being behind a paywall, but I'm probably totally wrong about that.

I got this game but I never got the Ver.1.01 code with my copy. :( Nevertheless it's a great import shooter that I'm glad is region-free.
