I use my traveler's notebook more often for travel journaling because it's the same height as an A5 but about half the width and it's easier to carry around. I definitely do a lot more "junk" style journaling that's less structured but that's also because I mostly want to record my feelings in the moment as well whenever possible. I started mine at Go Wild Dallas. My goal with journaling like this is to record the good because I don't have many memories from when I was younger in part due to surrounding trauma so I want to remind myself that there are good things and I am okay in those moments.

My memory journal is my main every day journal! I tend to record what I’m watching listening to and reading as things I want to track!

i had to pause on the first frame due to tantruming toddler and was like "Whomst is this vaughn, we only accept Vogel" lol Also your grandma making those journals for you is so sweet. I just lost my only grandma and it really hit how special those photo albums they made really matter. You got me wanting to write my journals like they're to my future kids or grandkids.

i memory keep three different ways. with things that i’m looking forward to (i do this in my everyday journal) i mostly do pictures & the good/bad of the day(s) w/ whatever theme i have that month. i also do a memory keep sesh at the end of every month (also in my everyday journal) i choose 2-6 pictures that represent that month and write a little blurb about them. i also memory keep every trip (i have a seperate travel journal) i do this at the end of every trip and add as much ephemera & photos as i need!

You've inspired me to add some memory keeping pages to my journal 🥰 I used to do more elements like this and it made me happier to flip back through my notebook... But lately I rarely do this and it's just been a bunch of old to do lists

I feel you 👏 memory keeping is what makes looking back on our journals more worthwhile a lot of the time 💜

Hi Jess!! Thank you for another fabulous video! Your grandmother is incredible! I loved seeing her gift! I actually use my bullet journal FOR memory keeping. My dailies are highlights of each day. For a long time, I created weekly spreads, writing within the boxes. I realized this just didn’t give me enough space. Since memory keeping was my main purpose, I now journal as I go. I pre-decorate 7-8 themed spreads & add extra if needed. I use a Dutch door spread between months for The Month Review/Month Ahead Spreads. Here I set goals, note special plans ahead, & highlight the month that passed. Special spreads in the front & back of my journal are also used!

Sounds like a great system 😄💜 will certainly make your journals special to look back on in years to come 👏

What I do is after my monthly and weekly spreads, I keep a handful of pages open for scrapbook memory keeping each month- doing collaging with ticket stubs, wrist bands, pictures, little notes, etc.

I prefer the bulleted list style; I love to write funny things that happened or that people said. It takes me right back to being there. I also love keeping factoids; during a driving trip through South Dakota in the U. S., we passed through some really small towns, and I kept track of the populations as we passed.

Nice! 💜 I find the bulleted list version to be a lot more approachable than longform journaling, and love the idea of including factoids in there as well 😄

I do a mix of memory keeping… my yearly setup includes a couple of spreads for Year in Pictures where I print out two mini photos per month and journal a couple of sentences. In my daily logs I might just journal a little or stick in a photo or ephemera. For larger happenings I do more scrapbook and journaling in a dedicated journal.

I tried doing something like this to store letters I received from friends when I was a child/teenager and it didn't look good :< I'm going to tale some ideas from you to re-make it and hopefully, I'll like it more this time ^^ Thank you, and thanks youtube for suggesting this to me lol
