really appreciate what you do. When I bought my 300 xc-w, your video taught me how to jet it. I am very thankful

I just bought a 2017 TE 300 for me and a 2017 TE 150 for my wife. We put the bullet proof designs rad, rear disc and shock linkage guards on the bikes. Their products fit perfectly and look super durable. Now just have to wait for the snow to melt to go testing!!!

BPD guards are the business. Had them on my 2016 KTM and want them for my 2017 KTM. A good trick is to buy 4x KTM side stand rubber bands to use instead of the rubber bands. They are more durable and keep the shrouds tight to the radiators

Thanks for another great vid. You mentioned your fender rubs the guard as you turn. This is pretty common. An easy fix for this it to use a heat gun to heat the fender just a bit at the point were the forks would sit on either side of it. Heat it evenly across the width and pull the rear of the fender towards the front. Once the fender has been moved enough to clear the guard set the plastic in that new shape by quenching it with a cold wet towel.

When I first bought bulletproof rad guards, one of my rads was all twisted up. Sent it off to Mylars and they fixed it for $75. I highly recommend them if you want to put bulletproof guards on your bike but the rads are already bent.

Great video. I have them on my KTM's. Once I get a newer KTM in will have to give these new guards a try. btw, what type of motorcycle lift jack are u using? I am tired of bending down when working on my bikes.

Kyle do you like these guards or the flo radiator guard better?
@WillyD16 жыл бұрын
Kyle I ask cause I just watched the flo review and you said those were the best amd this video you said these were the best I really need to know there expensive like to make the right decision thanks Kyle

Kyle I had to put 3 washers on the back of the front fender bolts to provide clearance to avoid the fender from hitting the radiator..I thought it was just a poor mold on my fender guess it's common...
@vinnieortega8 жыл бұрын
looks like quality stuff. you would think after all these years that bikes have been water cooled the manufacturers would include some kind of brace or support considering the radiator is guaranteed to bend as soon as you lay it down.
@ginotang14568 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure that the rubber bands are so that the shrouds can flex out and snap back into place, rather than just breaking at the bolt!
@lucsergerie18354 жыл бұрын
My wondering is the 2x little bolt are they titanium ? this is a 2017 video still the best?
@billg13748 жыл бұрын
I think BPD advertises the use of those bands, that incase you catch a branch or something with your shroud, the shroud can flex out with the bands instead of just snapping off. I use them. I don't take my tank off much either, but I am trying to eliminate how many times I remove the shroud screws that go into the plastic tank on my '13. I feel the more they are removed, the probability of stripping the holes out in the tank really increase. Nice product and vid though!

HI Kyle you should have a look at Force Accessories for protective gear for your bike. They are an Australian company and the company make lots of very strong protective products. Thanks for the videos.

the give the band has to offer may reduce damage to shrouds when crashing. Mine are torn to shit. I wish bpd would allow the aluminum to extends back to protect the rads from side impacts better. If the rads get hit behind the guards, not much protection is offered. they do offer great frontal protection. I actually bent the front grill with a stick, that surely would have punctured my rad.

they are rubbish..same design as all the other rubbish billet guards..they offer virtually no side protection which is where most impacts come from..Enduro Engineering guards are better by far but I guess they didn't give you a free hoodie. Enduro Engineering radiator guards are best

I buy my bikes and my parts the same as everyone else, Sam. In 2016 I spent thousands of dollars in parts to review for the channel. Enough to buy a complete dirt bike. These give great protection from side impacts. I have used the EE guards too on multiple bikes in the past. Every time I tipped the bike with the EE guards, I bent my radiators. I have the BPD guards multiple bikes and haven't bent a radiator yet. Real world review :)

Rode my 250FX last week and literally laid the bike over on a hill climb. It was nothing to write home about but the BPD rad guard didn’t protect the side of my new radiator.
