Great message! It's hard learning how to balance truth and love and I don't think we're ever going to get it perfect in this lifetime. We try our best and the Holy Spirit does the rest. God bless my friends 😁🔥🕊

Can you show me The Holy Spirit? Your Soul Your mind? Where are they?
@Scorpion-my3dv3 жыл бұрын
@@JamesRichardWiley well there is no "they" when referring to the Holy Spirit. There's only one Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

That was very well said! I think we all need to learn how to keep our tempers down and try to remember that our anger gets in the way of what the Lord is trying to accomplish through us. Even our very thoughts betray us.. 😕

It's a fine line. There's something to be said for speaking the truth, calling things as they are and being unapologetically bold and confident. Being wishy washy in the name of love can often come off as unconvincing and lacking conviction. Be yourself but deliver the message like you believe it.

We should always strive to be like Christ. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we don't but never stop trying. Gods grace is sufficient.

Christ was a wandering doomsday preacher who talked to himself (his father in heaven - Yahweh.) He attacked the temple money changers Stirred up the people Criticized the authorities and volunteered to be tortured and murdered. According to the story he rose from the dead after a bad weekend and floated up into the clouds just like Mohammed (without using winged horses).

This reminds me of two different scriptures. 1 Corinthians 13 and Ephesians 6. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

I have no love for a schizophrenic, mass murderer who betrayed his own creations and blamed their suffering on themselves. That's the Father of Jesus, Yahweh, whom Jesus obeyed. I read this in the Bible.

All of us make mistakes along the way as we grow in Christ. Only Jesus was 100% perfect so we're going to have a lot of bumps along the way. We run for the prize and strive every day to be more like Christ but there is only 1 Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh.

Well, ask anybody who the bad guys are and the answer is the same: the other side. Your side are never the bad guys, that's impossible. Your side just wants to get rid of the other side because they are the bad guys.

Dr. Dickson makes a fair point; fair but rather limited. There are things in the teachings that are ascribed to Jesus that many, most, or even all people can support, like loving your neighbor. But then there are also things that do not resonate as much, like the views he is said to have had on the relationship between God and humans, about salvation and hell, and of course on some social and cultural issues like marriage and divorce. So even if we are only taking the purported teachings of Jesus in consideration, we have a bit of a mixed bag. However, when the reverence believers have for what Jesus supposedly said in the Gospels is extended to include the views of Paul and others in the New Testament, and to the Old Testament, we are getting deeper and deeper into the woods, and that is usually when literalist and conservative believers will part ways with Dr. Dickson on this point and cross over into the part of his analogy where the cello suite that was potentially so beautiful gets mangled by the ineptitude of the performers.
