@@Suds649 As I said elsewhere: I had a similar problem with the biggest bank in Australia (and found out many others were being rejected in the same way). It took a month, but they finally agreed to give me access to the account when I asked whether it'd make things simpler if I used a shotgun as a withdrawal slip! I decided later that I'd probably win a subsequent court-case, since they wouldn't even give local police enough information to lay theft charges. And my experience tells me that approach would work with Rsoles evevrywhere, including politicians, bureaucrats and the like. Their ONLY advantage is that they think nobody will make such issues PERSONAL! Tell them otherwise: convincingly. I come from a 2700-year-long line of Balkan Peasants, and one rule I learned early was: 'If you haven't got it in your hands you haven't got it! Good advice. Leaving money with banks/stock-brokers/etcetc is a mugs game! Too many people/governments/etc. involved. And whatever 'rights' you have ~ or are told you have ~ can be scrubbed in an instant. (eg the abandonment of a currency with a stroke of a pen: it's happened before. Often.) The only solution: get all your money OUT, IN CASH, and buy up PHYSICAL things that people will ALWAYS need. There are always opportunities if you keep your eyes open and you brain in gear. Eg. Recently a major supermarket chain was selling sealed 10kg bags of rice (life-expectancy of 15 or more years) at 60% of its usual long-term price. I jumped at the opportunity and bought a shitload on the basis that even with 'normal' inflation I could undercut the supermarket price and STILL make a 400% profit in ten or so years. And I'd also never go short of a meal, no matter WHAT the prices/currencies/etc. did. Possibilities abound: AND it's the basis upon which banks operate, WITH YOUR MONEY! eg Give a rice-farmer a MORTGAGE (YOUR money) with which to buy a rice-farm or tractor, etc. and collect the interest on the loan, without doing ANYTHING productive. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

The biggest bank in Australia tried the same stunt with me (half-a-dozen copouts!) and in the ensuing shitfight I discovered that more and more 'institutions' were joining the action. It occurred to me that the ONLY EVIDENCE that I had an account comprising a quarter-million-dollar deposit resided it the bank's own computer-system. (to which I, NOR THE LOCAL POLICE could get access!) Finally got the withdrawal when I asked whether it'd help if I used a shotgun as a withdrawal-slip! Next morning @ 9:01 it ( the lot: I closed the account) was available. QUESTION: WHY TF are people addicted to entrapment to a system over which they have NO control, having been conned into plastic/digital 'money', and which ~ in REALITY~ doesn't exist except in cyberspace ?? Can they ALL be STUPID??

In essence, Canada is the 51st state in that the US provides their security and Canadians can live and work in Canada or the US as they wish. They can receive US Healthcare if they wish. But, they have the ability to govern their own affairs if they wish, as intended for states in the US by the authors of the Constitution. So they appear to be the 51st state with all the privileges intended for a state.

Also, you didn't know that the US was the only country that invoked article five of NATO on 9/11 and it's Canada who came to your help in accepting all the diverted flights when the US airspace was cleared of every plane. Now, for work: no free green card for canadians, we have to go trough the same procedures as any one else and wait years. As far as Healthcare ??? for canadians it's free??, why should we go south and pay thru the nose, we need travel insurance if we go south, even for a sprained ankle. He went to deposit at Michigan National Bank, and the head teller stepped in and asked him what he did for a living to make that much. He said none of your business, went home and told Vivian. The next day, she went to the bank and demanded cash, no check. Waited for hours, wouldn't budge. They finally brought the cash, and asked if she wanted an escort, and she said " No I don't! I'll feel alot safer when I'm the hell out of here!" Took it straight to the Credit Union and never looked back.

I do like people with the guts to back up their demands. The problem is that a credit union is no more than a bank in drag. Vivian, get your cash OUT and into YOUR sole control, and figure different ways to 'invest' ( detest that word!) it yourself in the countless 'passing opportunities' every day. (with the added reassurance that a lot of small and/or temporary 'investments will reduce the risk of large losses. eg. Local supermarkets were recently selling sealed rice-bags (15-year expected life-span) for 60% of the usual price. I bought 150kg on the basis that in 10 years, relying on inflation alone, I could undercut the then-supermarket price by 40% and still make a 300%/400% profit. And that doesn't even account for the SHTF event, during which I'll have plenty to eat/share. (I think I just talked myself into going to town and grabbing another 20/30 bags!🙃)

And live 'normally' for sometimes years. Otherwise (as I've done on occasion) you simply buy a suitable off-grid property under an assumed name (for cash). And although I'm seriously into self-sufficiency I NEVER give the same name/details twice. ie. The local Council has its rates coming from one 'person' and all other 'services' down to grocery-deliveries and mail, etc. are listed under other names. It's a bit of a nuisance, but works well. And when it comes time to sell I set an attractively low asking-price, but demand payment in cash. AI looks like presenting a serious challenge sooner rather than later. @@rubies200 Wonder if that would do any good. The letter said they would "present him with a check..." My other fear would be when he took that check to another bank and tried to deposit it. Would that bank accept it? I guess your suggestion could be used with a twist. Take their check then tell them you would like to cash it. Wonder if TD would take their own check!

@@spring984 Find a legal code which says a U.S. citizen must accept any currency that the bank chooses. Dollar bills are *legal* U.S. currency and, as far as I know, payable on demand.

They will make him wait for over a week or more for cash. I would not trust a check either.@@rubies200

@@rubies200 He can demand all he likes, they'll never give him cash. Look at the UK and what happened to Nigel Farage - he had to get a bank account in another country (outside the UK) just to be able to cash the bank cheque before it expired when he was debanked. This is the problem - first they debank you then basically every other bank in the country won't touch you because "you must be bad because [bank x] debanked you" so where do you do your banking?

sadly, this was inevitable. He needs to get his stuff in cash, and get a bigger safe.

If we go digital cash will be useless then you will be stuck with cash that you can't get rid of . Cash has changed many times even when the civil war ended the Confederate money was useless after the war . It's funny how when you ask banks questions or other people they refuse to answer . Yet we are starting to hear about black outs and grids going down . So when this happens either nobody will be able to get money or anything else.everthing will shut down no Internet no cell phones no gas, diesel even hospital will not be able to work they have diesel fuel to operate their generators then what if the grid don't come back on ? Same thing when banks and business get hacked .

Your an idiot. How is Tim going to send cash to all his suppliers.

Cash is pointless as you can't use it because no one accepts it. At least bullion will always retain its value.

If I was Tim I’d bring in a copy of the constitution show the banker article 4 section 4 and demand payment in gold and silver coins 😂
