It’s always advisable to Invest judiciously, keep a stop loss figure. Shuffle between debt and equity wherever the ratio goes too off your target. As for the target I use an FA who recommends a Ratio like this Debt % should be equal to your age in years. If you are 20, debt is 20%, reset in equity. If the market falls or rises drastically, your debt % will change, which you should rebalance to 20% and bring back equity to 80%. Thus you would have bought low or booked profit depending on if it was a crash or a bull run. Used this to build a 7 figure portfolio.

The most common investment portfolio strategies include diversification, where you spread investments across different asset classes to manage risk. Another is the growth strategy, focused on capital appreciation through high-risk, high-reward assets. Income-oriented strategies target regular income from dividend stocks or bonds. There's also the value strategy, seeking undervalued assets for potential long-term gains.
@Chrishat-x2j29 күн бұрын

The idea of investing a significant sum of money may be both thrilling and intimidating. There is potential for considerable wealth increase with the correct strategy. How can one take advantage of compound interest and potentially grow your retirement savings to about $1M over time?

I think the safest strategy is to diversify investments. Like spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.

Before you start investing, it's crucial to understand the basics of investing, different asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.), and the associated risks. are you investing for retirement, buying a home, or building an emergency fund? Your goals will help shape your investment strategy.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Diversification means spreading your investments across different asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate) and within those classes (different companies or industries). This helps reduce risk.

I Invest in low-cost index funds or ETFs that track broad market indices, such as the S&P 500. These funds offer diversification across a wide range of stocks and can be a more passive, low-maintenance investment option. They are suitable for investors who prefer a hands-off approach and want exposure to the overall market.

2 boxes of cereal a week into the S&P500 (8%) is $100,000 in 40 years. Of which, $81,000 is interest. Do this with 10 items and there's a million.
@JoeGoldLife2 ай бұрын
@JupiterThunder it's the principle of the idea. $5 a week doesn't seem like much, and it isn't, but it shows how a tiny and reasonable compromise can contribute a massive 10% to the million. How hard is it to turn 20k into 100k? Buy a different brand and stick to it. This is why multiple streams of income are critical, each stream contributes to the overall goal, as well as offer safety through diversity. Buying a different brand of cereal won't make you a millionaire, but a collection of positive changes in financial behaviour will; some changes as small as buying a few cheaper brands.

Truly sound advice you’ve given here and they are very much appreciated. However, I don’t think some of the hacks are realistically practical. 9:33 For instance the Kellogs coco pops hack. Let’s say 1 pack lasts about 2 weeks for me, that means I’ll be buying 2 packs per month which is equivalent to 24 packs per year. So I’ll be saving $62.16 per year for the difference (I.e $102 for the branded version - $39.84 for the unbranded version) and not the $934.4 Why wait 5years to save $4k when someone is making that in a week? I say work smarter and make more money, increase your asset column, sacrifice some liabilities and in a couple of years, you won’t have to look at the price tag. Great video though 👏

Hi Mark, I’ve been in the insurance industry for 10 years. The piece of advice I can give all your listeners is buy your insurance policy at a young age while we are healthy!! For life insurance keep away from whole of life just buy a term life such as 20/25 years until your kids are in full time employment. Of course if you add critical illness premium will jump but also essential. Your figure for health care is wayyyyy off completely dependent on where you are in the world and your current health status. A family of 4 for example in the UAE for comprehensive cover could be 15/20k USD per year. Love your videos !
@thewitchofwallstreetАй бұрын
That’s fantastic advice, especially about starting young with insurance-too many people wait until it’s more expensive or harder to qualify. Totally agree on term life being a better fit for most people over whole life policies. And wow, $15-20k USD for health coverage in the UAE is eye-opening-definitely shows how much these costs vary globally. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

I wasn't the biggest fan of many of the older videos, but this one is pretty close to what Ramit Sethi teaches on his own show, which is promoting a good but sustainable lifestyle while building your wealth. As a 24 year old I'm trying to live by these principles, I refuse to buy a car unless I'm 100% sure I need it (the metro and trams/buses are perfectly serviceable and costs me a small fraction of what car payments would be), I'm not ordering food or eating out except once or twice every two weeks, otherwise we are cooking for ourselves. I'm not a drinker so I save quite a bit of money on alcohol too. All this allows us to afford what actually matters to us, which is great vacations every year, spending a lot on our hobbies while still building our wealth for the long run. I think the key is spending less on things that you don't really care about or need, which frees up money for things that you actually want, which will include investing/saving. It's a great feeling seeing your investment account grow while you live a decent lifestyle. I have some business plans for later on, and the capital that I'm building now will help achieving these goals.

Every week I buy more of whatever is the lowest percentage of my portfolio and try to keep everything around 10%. Please what could be my safest buys with $400k to outperform the market in 2024??

My CFA Julianne Iwersen Niemann, a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.

Thank you for sharing, I must say, Julianne appears to be quite knowledgeable. After coming across her web page, I went through her resume and it was quite impressive.

With around $120k invested in Palantir stocks, any suggestions for additional stocks to diversify across various markets? Looking for a well-rounded portfolio that balances risk aversion with returns meeting yearly inflation concerns.

I am awfully late investing at 45 with just about 180,000 in savings. I have never invested before and worried about missing out on current market. I want to make smart choices for my future. Can I still retire with $1 million by 50 if I begin investing aggressively?
@marlene_orjaАй бұрын
Yes, you can. in order to avoid mistakes, its best utilizing the guidance of a seasoned financial specialist, someone since the '08 crash

Well agreed, I once assumed I had a hang of the mkt, accrued few bucks and got super elated, not until I stumbled upon a portfolio coach who didn't only hedge my portfolio from covid-19 crash, but so far gained over 330% ROI. IMO, nothing beats expertise.

wish to know more about stock investing, think your coach can be of help? I have just received a good sum of inheritance and would love to make meaningful use other than spending

Karen Lynne Chess is the licensed FA I use. Just google the name. You’d find necessary details to work with and set up an appointment. To be honest, I almost didn't buy the idea of letting someone handle growing my finance, but so glad I did.
@J.woltz48Ай бұрын
insightful comments. I curiously searched Karen Lynne Chess on the internet, found her consulting page ranked top and was able to schedule a call session with her, no sweat! she seems highly professional from her resumé

Hi would you recommend only buying the sp500? Or also other stocks and efts
@samengelage3521Ай бұрын
A good way for a beginner with little to no money would probably be index funds and ETF's. Betting on individual stocks (especially when you don't have much money to bet with) can end up blowing up in your face. Be sure to do your research on different investment platforms and the stocks/funds that you want to invest in. Also be sure to invest in a Roth IRa at some point to contribute to your future.

It's advisable to go for an experience except when seeking to invest in the crypto market
