It's funny. This was the lowest scoring game in NBA Finals history and yet it's probably one of the most exciting. Proof that you don't need a ton of points to produce an amazing game.

I was lucky to have seen this live. It was an amazing game, probably the best game I've ever seen in my life. Stockton, Malone, Jordan and Pippen were all unbelievable, but nobody talks much about the other guys; Jeff Hornecek, Steve Kerr, Tony Kukoch... Those guys played great ball too. I know it's been said before, but you really don't see intensity like this in games anymore.

The lefty finger roll off the fake in the post against Russell is amazing, as is the behind-the-backboard jumper and the dribble jab step, between the legs, pump-fake jumper at the top of the key. The jumper as he comes across the lane where he raises up really high is incredible. There'll never be anyone better. 34 years old here.

watching this game I"m glad the NBA changed their rules to encourage easier scoring and discourage physical interaction between combatants. All that intense defense just leads to hard feelings and a bunch of guys losing their cool due to their heightened competitiveness. This put the emphasis too much on the ecstasy of winning and agony of losing instead of where it should be, guys being able to get open perimeter shots and basically uncontested drives to the basket. Such an amazing finals series. That game. Stockton clean steal, stockton 3 point, the rebound, the pass to Malone. All in like 2, 3 minutes. Malone with 23-10-6. Stockton with 17-12-4. That flu game was next Jazz almost won 3 in a row. A 7 game series would have been awesome.

Mr. Entringer True, but I don't know if Utah would have been able to beat Chicago. Game 7 would have been in Chicago so that would have been to the Bulls advantage over the Jazz. Btw, I wanted Utah to beat Chicago. The Bulls already had four titles prior to that one. It would have been Utah's first.

Lotta things to talk about here. Lowest scoring Finals Game ever but still 18th highest rated to this day. A thriller from start to finish and incredibly loud. This was probably MJs lowest point as a Bull in all of the 90s except for the Magic loss in 1995. He scored his Finals career low on 40% shooting, including a crucial miss in the final minute which led to an historic pass from Stockton to Malone over Jordan for a 1 point lead. The MVP Malone (Jordan’s only stolen trophy in his entire 2nd threepeat) redeems his Game 1 blunder with two made free throws to seal the game and tie the series at 2-2. In danger of going down 3-2, likely losing his only Finals, and ending the greatest streak in sports history - no 3 game losing streak in his last 626 games as a Bull - Jordan wakes up at 4am a day later with brutal food poisoning which keeps him home or on the bench until tip off. He then puts on one of the most inspiring displays of heart in sports history with the flu game, ties the series up in the final seconds of game 5 in a grueling uphill battle, and wins his 5th ring two days later. In his last dance year - game 6 - he ends his masterpiece by stealing an identical Stockton lob to Malone, scores the Bulls last 8 points, swipes the ball from Malone, and wins his 6th ring on a last second jumper.

Having a tough game, commentators pointed it out...then suddenly drilling buckets, dunking in traffic, chase down blocks, smart passes and one rattled out 3 pointer away from likely leading to a win. Low scoring game, but was like watching an athletic game of chess. Golden age of basketball.

Yeah, that missed 3 at the end by Jordan was heartbreaking. It's amazing how he even almost hits the game-winners he misses lol. That reminds me of the shot that rimmed out against Indiana in the '98 ECF after Reggie hit that 3 to put the Pacers up. Just incredibly close.

The jazz were suppose to do this nba finals thing in 1992! This series and the 98 NBA finals series was suppose to be a blow out series like a sweep or 4-1. The 1998 game 3 was exactly what this series was a 52 point game blow out. Like I said the jazz were prime in 1992 and we're predicted to be in finals and even beating the bulls but Clyde the glide busted threw in 92.

That series was awesome. Kobe being the MVP and KG being the defensive player of the year...there was a lot of passion in that series.

That breakaway "foul" by Jordan was shown on two replays to be a clean block, and Walton/Goukas were adamant that no foul should have been called there. It's amazing the ground MJ covered there, and it shows his tenacity. How many stars today would make that play with a speedy PG already off to the races with a head start rather than sit there and bitch at the refs for a call? Maybe Lebron...

yea amazing jump on that shot. he was definitely slowing in general in the second 3peat but he keeps his'jump shoot' jumping ability when he was old. about the tenacity of defense, it was crazy that the bulls has two guys like that, pippen was if not better, just almost as good as mj on those coming from behind blocks, although mj's timing on block is incomparable.

There is some contact, but it is after Jordan made a clean block. But of course, they got to enjoy winning the Finals on their own home court in game 6. So, it didn't matter. Not making excuses, but Pippen(foot), Kukoc(foot), Rodman(hand) were not 100% healthy... and the Bulls still won the series.

JBourneID That's funny. Because I have seen people say that LeBron choked when ever he missed a turnaround three. But anyways, the three pointer shot in this video was not really a turnaround. But those are not the only examples I can think of. There have been times in Jordan's career where he has choked. It just did not happen too often. His relatively quiet game in Game 5 of 1998, or his relatively quiet game here in Game 4, could be considered choking, for example.
