I am truly honored to have been featured! Thank you very much for solving my puzzle. It’s incredibly exciting to watch people enjoying my little creations. This is part of my April Fools series, which, I feel, justifies the shenanigans at the end. There is much discussion about it in the LMD page if anyone wants to join in! Speaking of that page, I am so in love with your illustration, Sleuth, I would LOVE to show it off it there. Is that something that you’d be comfortable with? Thanks again for the great video ❤️

Thank you for this fabulous puzzle! My pleasure featuring it, sorry if I rushed out to do so and potentially stopping it from being featured on larger channels! You're totally free to use the artwork or links to the video. I don't do it as it would be a bit presumptous of me to do so, but would love to have any of it on your puzzle's LMD page.

@@SudokuSleuth Absolutely no need to apologize! You have just as much right to use any of my puzzles as any other creator, and you’re very welcome to! As I said, I was honored. Do you have an email address that is public, or any other way that I can reach you?

@LorenaIsEvil - Just curious....Is there a solve path where 0 could be an option..... And is it different or gets to the same conclusions? I can imagine each box missing a digit and hence for example in Box 9, the 7 could have been a 6, the 2 a 0 or 2 etc... And I am tryign to figure out if there is a solve path ? OR should I not try?

The more you fill in, the more you realize that something's going on... and even when you know there's going to be *something*, you're surprised by what that "something" is. Great puzzle!!! And the title is highly appropriate in at least 3 ways.

A very clever twist using zero instead of 2
@anaayoung914220 сағат бұрын
08:21 whoaaa!! I wasn't expecting that! Very creative way of using zero! We solved in a pretty similar way, I used small numbers too. But then I coloured the empty cells to place them all the same time at the end... but they were already there 😅 True about 7 in box 3, but even earlier we wouldn't have a 248 triple if we consider the 0 as a possibility 🤗

16:16 .... I did it again sticking to the correct rules!
Күн бұрын
This is the best twist in a while. I probably made some incorrect logical steps as well with German whisper lines. Like here 5 could be on the lines! Oh yeah, even the first step is already not logically valid.
@SudokuSleuthКүн бұрын
😆 Lorena will likely receive a few messages about that twist!
@aepilotjimКүн бұрын
16:16 I was just happily filling in 2's till the very end and then they all change to zeros. The thing is I was using those cells as twos on the german whisper line, and I'm not sure how that didn't affect my solve. I mean, if zeros were possible then 5's would have been a valid digit on the german whisper lines as well as any 6's would have had 2 possible neighbors as well.
@SudokuSleuthКүн бұрын
I had the same thought!
@annikaQEDКүн бұрын
Except that you had been cursed by the nefarious Lorena to be ignorant of the digit 5 until she reveals it to you. (Just as the digit 0 does not exist in sudoku unless the sudoku-designer "reminds" you of it in a variant form of the game..) It bothers me though that we leave the game without the re-awakened knowledge of 2. 😞

No need to worry, it says that the curse fully breaks when you solve the sudoku.

Looks the constructor beat me to it 😃 The spell breaks once we solve, phew!

Mine wasn't such a twist ending, cause my fog lifted differently than yours. I uncovered a zero almost right away.

I am VERY curious as to how this happened. As far as I’m aware, that’s impossible if you follow the rules.
@sealed2mybff16 сағат бұрын
@@LorenaIsEvil I don't know, but it frequently happens when I do the puzzles in the Sudokupad app. I will get majorly stuck on a fog puzzle and be wondering how Sleuth or the guys at CTC or LogicLemur had such a short solve time, only to watch their video and find that the fog lifted differently for them than it did for me. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app a few times, but it always does it anyway. It only happens like that with dynamic fog, though. With normal fog rules, it lifts exactly the same as everyone else's. Lift isn't exactly the correct wording, either, as the cells stay gray. But if there are lines or dots, etc under it, then those become visible on top of the gray.

@psiphiorgКүн бұрын
A very clever puzzle! The new dynamic fog features are really quite clever, and I'm sure we'll see more variants soon. I checked after solving, and found that any missing digit (aside from the final digit) was sufficient to prevent the final clues from de-fogging. Although... with the final revelation, it occurs to me that the very first step taken in solving the puzzle was a deduction we couldn't make, since that's not actually the only possibility. And there are several other steps where, if you solved again with that extra knowledge, I'm not sure if you could actually complete the puzzle. It's still quite a clever puzzle. My time was 27:08, solver number 173.

It was the only possibility, on the condition "you can only use revealed digits"? That's how I interpreted it.

@americanpatriot6484Күн бұрын
Interesting, but a couple times I don't know if I made a good deduction or not, even though it revealed more numbers. One process I used was elimination which I'm not sure if that was correct.
@SudokuSleuthКүн бұрын
Yea, placing a digit and getting zero reaction from the fog is disconcerting!
@drengskap37 минут бұрын
Hmm... I don't understand how you can rely on the elimination of 1 as a candidate from r2c6 to place 7 in r3c7, based on a putative value of 2 in r2c6, when in fact r2c6 is finally revealed to be 0, meaning that 6 would have been fine in r3c7 after all. It's like on the one hand r3c7 is forced to be 7, but on the other hand it's not forced to be 7 at all.
