Sweet! Solved 18:34, solver 599! At first i colored all the different snake cells in 9 colors, thinking they had to be all different, but quickly noticed that would put a 5 on the snakes :-( So i started again with just coloring high and low, and after noticing the given digit will have to be on the tails of the snakes, it was a spree of activity! Great fun!

I solved it a lot faster thinking about the 4 first. After coloring the snakes I thought about where can the 4 be in boxes 4 and 6. If it is in row 6 in box 4, then there is no way for 4 to be somewhere in the middle of the snake, since it only can be next to a 9, and you'll see quickly that that would need for two 9s in at least one box. So 4 muxt be in row 4 in box 4. R4C3 doesn't work, because of box 6, R4C2 doesn't work because double 9s in box 4, so 4 must be at the tail of the snakes. We can fill many 9s now. Next up: do the same with the number 6, and the whole puzzle falls apart quickly.

Nice one! 15 minutes sharp! Looks like at approximately similar time Sleuth already could fix lows and high, and actually transfer all the digits to numbers. Then it solves extremely easy!

Once you have fixed all the tail tips as G at 11:14, all four of them are looking into box 5, making G equal to 5, and H equal to 9. I suspected this from the start, given that the 4 in the middle was clearly going to determine polarity along the snakes.

41:03 Interested now to see what slowed me down as I watch the solve. Took me a while to pick my approach. And I lost a bunch of time with a huge "Doh!!" moment, when my brain was thinking all the snake segments were different because I labeled them that way, I noted to myself that of course numbers will repeat, and then forgot :). It's 1am. I should have done this tomorrow.
