I am single, I live in Florida, I have USAA and only have one vehicle. Is there a benefit for me to have stacked...or would increasing un-stacked coverage be better?

Great topic. So stacked refers to if you can add them together. What if you have UIM under one company for one of your vehicles but have another UIM for a different car you own under a different insurance company. How would those policies come into play and work together or work separately for an under insured accident claim?

You said if you have stacked UM coverage, and you get hit by either an uninsured or under-insured vehicle driver, and you have 3 cars insured for $100,000 each, then your limit of coverage is $300.000. But you neglected to say that EACH of those other insured vehicles of yours MUST ALSO have UM on them to obtain that limit.

UM is policy coverage not a vehicle coverage so it automatically applies to all vehicles on the policy

I got 3 car with 100/300 uninsured motorist. I was just in a hit and run and I got a police report. I got a hip fracture broken finger. Scarring on head superficial. They said my policy limit reach with my medical bill at 50000$. I'm sure in like 5 year or ten I'll need a hip replacement. I can't run and I got a limp. I should be hearing from my attorney next week. I hope I receive the amount I deserved all while I am 27.
