Doesn’t regular health insurance cover you in an accident? Why pay for additional coverage that only covers one type of accident? After watching this I’m dropping liability coverage to the minimum now, thx

In Florida, you do not have a choice. If you own a vehicle, it has to be insured. The laws in Florida require you to have Personal Injury Protection (PIP) to cover your injuries and $10,000 in property damage for vehicles you could damage. Health insurance companies that insure Florida residents know that if you are involved in a car wreck and they get a diagnostic code for a car wreck injury, they will not pay that claim until they know the $10,000 in PIP has been exhausted. You have to have the $10,000 PIP because, no matter how great your health insurance is, it will not pay the first $10,000 of your health benefits.
