Good tip on the combination square. Only needed one step on the pass side for my mother, so found a single cheap on ebay w/o hardware. Got better self tapping screws & grade 5 bolts at my local Ace anyway.

Boy those rockers are in good shape! My 2013 Expedition has some large holes where the rockers should be. It has the powered running boards which are great at holding mud and all that winter junk nice and tight to the body...

I understand they use a lot of salt on the roads in some states. I live in western Washington, and they use salt, but we don't get that much weather that requires it, so our vehicles don't rust out bad. Now in Seattle which is still western Washington they use a lot more. I don't live near Seattle. I am in a rural area west of Seattle towards the Olympic mountains.

So there's no pre-drilled holes you have to measure it and just put it where you want?

That's what I did, the instructions give you an idea where to put them. There were no predrilled holes in this truck.
