Great video, thank you. I have owned one of these for five years. I play active 4 and 5-string bases. The point of this thing is it is really small. You can walk to rehearsals or ride your bike with it. No, it is not loud enough to gig, but it does have an excellent DI. I use it as a spot monitor and DI to the board. The input on channel 1 is a combo DI/Jack with a mic setting (and no mute). It is really versatile for small gigs and practice. I also take it on holiday with me. It is a really good HiFi amp for your phone for party music. The only downside is that mine used to cut out when it got hot - I mean over 40 degrees C (104 Fahrenheit). PJB advised me to tighten all the push connectors on the board, and it has not cut out since. You may want more for the money, but this amp is about less, not more, it's the smallest playable bass amp I have ever used.

You’re playing is very musical. Really enjoyable to listen to. Your review is spot on too. The 77 is the way to go.

Great video. I own the red version of this killer basscombo. It's very portable and lightweight and the sound is amazing too. I use it in the acoustic band in my church and I love it very much. :)

i just have one question about the combo: could it deliver enough power for a small gig with a full drum set? not the loudest style of playing, but at least would i be able to hear myself? :D this is my only question about it.

mikerux I think it is loud enough when you use it in an acoustic setting when the music is not too loud.

Love your videos, and Love Acoustic 370 /371 Bass amps, the Folded Horn with the 18" speaker, and 400 watt head, is VERY LOUD!!!!!!! it is no joke!!!! My big bro went from a 1965 Fender Bass Man, 50watts, and 2x12" speakers, To an Acoustic in 1972 , he put his 1965 Fender jazz Bass through the Acoustic, I've yet, to hear anything come close to it's sound....Nothing can touch that amp, I was 5 years old and was hooked, Wow....that thing will loosen plaster from in between walls!! LOL

I bought one about four years ago for hundred less. I keep mine in the den neatly tucked away. If I used a bigger amp the wife would get all upset. When I'm watching sports I like to play around on the bass and this amp does the trick. Plus it's easy to pack in the car when you're going on vacation. I don't take road vacations without my bass.

likewise my man... i borrowed this amp for the review. i use a roland cube (it can be battery powered) and if i can drive there best believe at least have a 4 string with me.

@@BullyThaKidd In case you didn't know, you can plug in and play two different instruments (two basses or one bass and a guitar) through this amp at the same time.

Had the Phil Jones Briefcase amp when they first came out some years ago and loved it. Plugged my upright bass into it and it worked out nicely.

Phil Jones is a cool dude, and make some amazing stuff. I own a few of his products Session77, Briefcase, Suitcase, and they are all great at reproducing the Low-End.

Great demo. Thanks for NOT using the D.I.! Impossible to know what the amp really does from the board.

Good afternoon my friend, good review on that one, and if I was looking for a 5 string jazz bass guitar, that would not cost of arm and a leg or not even just one arm, what one would you point me in the direction of? And also we have talked before about how you learned to play, and I wanted to ask you would old Gospel songs and old blues songs and old country song, be what I need to start with? Just one song over and over till I get it, or just play with what ever comes on? Thank you so much for your time and help

Alright... I would suggest ibanez... the talman or a sr series bass. And I would start with blues... like southern blues... that genre translates to the gospel world because they are basically the same thing. I would learn song by song and then later play what ever is on the radio when you want to challenge yourself.

Hey Allen, I know this has nothing to do with the topic of this video. As far as technique goes,...do you always play in a 1st finger position? I haven’t seen every one of your videos. But I’ve watched a lot of them, and it’s caught my eye. Have you ever thought about playing while using the 2nd and 4th finger positions? For a period of time, I had stalled because I had been mostly using the 1st and 2nd. Then I had started utilizing the 4th finger position and started improving, and even coming up with better ideas. Just thought I’d throw that out there to ask. Although I’m not currently playing or in the market for another amp,...I will definitely consider this one if the need arises. Thanks for all of your videos that you post. Knowledge from experience is priceless. Leonard
