Hey amazing you gave it a shot!!! Super appreciative and you got into some of the more "advanced" or newer systems that aren't properly tutorialized yet, cool to see those being tried out. So yeh like you said a lot of that is missing cuz there's still a lot of development to go. Including some more guided and goal oriented gameplay involving hostile and friendly other settlements and the faction system. With regards to the camera, I think you nailed it on the head there, it's an open world, 3d topology game and it's tricky. It is also something I am improving every day every week. But there isn't a clearcut answer. A lot of people go "hey detach it from the towers and surveyor, or make it like every other builder" but you would lose some of the funky stuff it does. You point a few things regarding it Middle mouse: Yes! just go to the controller screen and set it to be an middle mouse orbit. It's not perfect yet, but it's there. misclicking: yeh I have a bunch of systems in to sort of predict where someone wants to click, but it is far from perfect. The RMB /LMB issue. hahah I had reversed and got slaughtered for the pre-alpha demo by people saying that was sooo wrong. So hmmm yeh Seems I will keep designing myself into corners ;) but I am listening and that's why it's an 'evolving' demo. Hopefully I'll get it right at some point ;) please revisit in 6 months or so and see how I did ;) Cheerio and super thanks Tomas (the solodev for the game)

Solid attitude mate I hope you find the success you've clearly worked for, you deserve it! I'll be a solodev myself soon, once I figure out how to rewire the human psyche from scratch and rid myself of the perpetual procrastination (propetstinualation or peepee for short.) of untreated, twice exceptional attention deficit dis..tracted?...no, fuck, I know this one....

Super excited for this game. Do you have a roadmap for features? Not a timeline, just goals.
@falconeerdev Жыл бұрын
@@therealdoomsage Well I actually ended up solodev cuz I wasn't a truly very well organised human who was great in teams. Had a big burnout and doing it by myself saved me in a way. Sometimes you gotta adapt to who you are , rather than adapt who you are :)

I was about to say to Splattercat that you are generally accessible and communicative and that, if he had any thoughts or suggestions, you are receptive to constructive criticism. . but you're already here. So, hey. Cool. I look forward to more progress with the game.
@falconeerdev Жыл бұрын
@@Xexelli it's all over the place but somewhere down in my psyche is a roadmap of sorts. But I am quite chaotic and love fiddling and in between the fiddling I need to make a few more major features. I hope that in 6 months I can look at this and say ok this is content complete. But stress is my enemy so do not pin me on that. (at some point my money is gonna run out, so it' won't be years or anything) Sometime this year would be nice, but if it's not then early next year. Not longer than that I feel.

In survival it's actually better to have access to water, then shelter then food. You can live 7 days on no food, but only 3 on no water. So if you spend your first couple days making camp near some useable water you have more chance of surviving 🤷♂️

Kinda weird for a nomadic people on an expedition to not pack enough food to last until they’ve established a new settlement. I’m sure your criticism seemed valid though.

Very cool cosmetic design! I absolutely love the idea of building these societies entirely on craggy sea mounts, with a style that is sorta steampunk in design. What I really like is the way some buildings get built without the player directly micromanaging everything, it gives the settlement a unique organic quality. Just a very fascinating game, I'm going to keep an eye on Bulwark going forward.

Not very familiar with the world, but this does strike me as a prime one for a ttRPG setting book (5e, Genesys, or Savage Worlds maybe). I feel like there should be little spider-crawlers climbing around on the cities, leviathans and pods of whales and dolphins swimming those seas, and lots more creatures flying in the skies. I'm getting some 'Kaina of the Great Snow Sea' anime vibes from this too, which is pretty fantastic. I look forward to seeing where this one goes @falconeerdev !

Great artwork, kinda reminds me of playing Lego worlds with battletech, as it was great to build different structures, but I definitely felt that it then made me want to play a turn based strategy game or program a 2d6 game further, or as there's more easily transferable formats like by writing designs down on graph paper, after initial arena design ideas, on both sides of the wall, and the nice colors on the pool of rejuvenation with designing columns?

Love it, it is new and fresh in a market segment which for me is all very same-y and a bit stale. If you link this into the lore of the falconeer it makes more sense (to me that is, but I understand your reticence). It does need a brief lore intro and basic control i,nstructions but more than that would spoil the whole point which is exploration (of map, of possible placements, of reason for placements) this is supposed to be a blank 3d slate upon which to impose your will. To much at the start gives you a grid and imposes artificial boundaries in your mind before you actually start.. I'm rambling, I am stoked for this game I can't wait to start.. wow this has blown my mind open with possibilities. Well done Mr developer. And thank you Splatt for showing me this masterpiece in the making (my masterpiece made with the lore and tools provided by this talented developer)

It's like Simcity rem how the street system enclosed a block where add a type of building. The buildings in lattice of blocks are then made to upgrade or downgrade depending on the algorithmics created from the structures in the adjacent blocks. It would be interesting what the final structured city would look like, Maybe like a snowflake - not two are ever a like, unless you believe in bizarre teachings of fractal chaos theory -- lol.
