I do online art commissions sometimes and had to learn the hard way you're not allowed to ask someone to pay for a Paypal fee. It's against their ToS. You can adjust the price of an item to like cover it but if someone ever asks to you pay the PP fee you're supposed to report them. 😬❤

when you make a custom design, it wont have the rounded edges UNLESS you place a regular design first and place it on top. it ALSO needs to have atleast one transparent pixel. idk why.

You can still get refunds if you go through friends and family!! I was a dummy and bought a concert ticket and got scammed but if you contact your bank you can file them under fraud get the refund and paypal will take the money from them! but it does lock your account and you have to go through a verification process ^^

@@BumbleBaylee I'm not sure but I know people build custom unique tables out of epoxy resin. There are all types of grades. i.e. boats, bar and table tops, hobby. One that coat things vs cast things. Ones which may yellow over time vs stay crystal clear. etc. I think paint from doing art stuff likely wont stick permanently and can be scratched off because I heard that if you want to paint on top of resign (design) you'll have to seal in the design under a coat or two of resin. *shrug *

Baylee. Paypal's rules say that places can not pass the fees on to you. It's one thing to include the fees in the amount they charge but saying that you pay it for them is not good. They can get in trouble for that with paypal.

About the pin seller saying to pay friends and family. When you said they ask to pay that way so you won’t be charged PayPal fees, they’re not allowed to charge you extra for the fees anyway. A seller must allow for the fees at the costing stage of their production, it must never be added on extra for the customer.

Your spidey sense were right - not only did you forfeit buyer protection, its also fraud in some countries bc it's a business transaction that isn't taxed appropriately. Same when someone asks you to send a purchased item as a gift. But live and learn, you know for next time. Its also totally possible it's not a scam (in that they'll still send you perfectly good pins) and they're just illegally trying to avoid taxes.
