Speaking of the balance between style and substance, Bumbles' channel probably has the best blend between quality of videos and frequency of release I've ever seen. Every one has plenty of great jokes, are well-edited, and are written to be engaging enough to hold my attention the whole way through even on subject matter I'm unfamiliar with, due in no small part to Jack's wide range of energetic delivery. And when you've hit the end and are listening to that catchy outro, you can be satisfied knowing that it'll probably just be a couple weeks until he's put out something new for you to enjoy! So glad I found his channel.

this fucking game, i've finally fucking found this game. i used to watch my uncle play games when i was a kid, and specifically he'd play some of the most obscure ass ps2 games i've ever seen. this one particular game he played a few times before selling it to buy his next obscure game and for some reason it just really stuck with me. and for age's i've been trying to find out what in god's name the game was and all i could remember was edgy ps2 game with guns involved and i could never find it. But now thanks to my lord and saviour, Bumbles McFumbles, i've finally found it. this is like 20 years worth of anxiety trying to find this damn thing finally lifted off me.

As a note for anyone thinking about playing this for yourself, there is an error in Bumbles video. The game does have auto fire. In the settings on the main menu there's a setting called RAPID. Turn that on and your hand will thank you. Anyway, love your content Bumbles. I rewatch episodes literally daily. Keep up the amazing work and can't wait for the next one :>

Just watched the whole anime, my new top 10 anime of all time, but the anime actually aired in 2003, it was one of the last cel 2D traditionally drawn animations before the full transition to digital drawn animation on drawing smart tablets.

So I've been playing Gungrave G.O.R.E. recently and I played most of the second game. Thoughts; Overdose is fun for what it is, and the length didn't bother me too much, but what REALLY bugged me is how damn *hard* it is. Seriously, if you ever make a followup to this video on Overdose, PLAY ON EASY. I played on normal and it was *hellish* after the midpoint. It wasn't even a fun kind of difficult, it was just frustrating. There's a reason I played 'most of' it and not the whole thing. G.O.R.E. on the other hand is what Overdose SHOULD have been. Tighter controls, faster movement without being blinding, a good middle ground between Gungrave's mindless power fantasy and Overdose's crushing difficulty(it can be challenging but only starts getting truly challenging in the last like eight stages out of 31), and by the time G.O.R.E. starts getting difficult you've gotten your hands on multiple different Demolition Shots, combos and stat upgrades, because yes, the game has an upgrade system using DNA points you get at the end of a stage. So it getting difficult is basically going "alright, you have all this gear, now show us you can use it right." Honestly, the sheer range of abilities Grave can wield by the game's end is amazing and has me convinced he'd make an amazing fighting game character. Also one of the melee combo finishers is a lethal dropkick and I think that's funny.

Jump-shooting is such a power in Gungrave and Overdose. Also Balladbird Lee was the first one that killed me. And much like Asura's Wrath, I seem to have lucked into a good strategy for playing the system. I usually had enough Demolition Shots in the later levels.

I've heard that the developer's intent with the simplistic, pick up and play, and short nature of the game was to try and appeal to the busy working Japanese man who just got home from the office and just wants something quick and easy to relax with without requiring too much effort. They felt that games were getting more and more advanced and complex, so they wanted to return to a more simple arcadey style of game to appeal to said overworked businessman types.

@@carso1500 From what I remember, first episode cold opens into game-accurate action madness. The rest is high-class serious gangster drama that takes its time to introduce the crazy back in (and even then it's not over the top and fits tonally). Starting people off with the second episode ensured that they wouldn't get hit with the whiplash or if they weren't doing the three-episode rule, outright quit early and miss out on a good anime. And it just flows better, especially if one is unfamiliar with the game (and pretty much everyone was back then).

Watching this video, the game to me almost looks like a very particular, even more archaic style of game that was popular around the time: Rail Shooters, just in this case with you physically walking the rail line. Slow movement, simple controls, being at a stop to more effectively shoot what's on screen, it really looks like it has the feel of the arcade-style rail shooter, a humble beast now endangered to the point of practical extinction.

Could you review code lyoko evolution on the wii please ? It's not that bad but it's this kind of game, the kind were you see that it's objectively bad, but you still mildly enjoy it , it's a forgotten game I found in my old wii games and played again for fun, and there's a couple of interesting things about it, like the fact that the series it's based on was partly french and that for the french version all the original voice actors were here, or that for some reason, when playing on console, all the stages in the volcano area lag like hell, the fact that the character who uses swords and has a special move that kills most enemies instantly is somewho the worst one, and on console requires you to move the wiimote to attack wich often doesn't register . Although I doubt that anyone cared about emulating or preserving it for how unremarkable it is, so it might be super expensive or impossible to find at all.
