I feel like this was supposed to be a vampire story that they transplanted to a modern setting. A couple happens upon a "castle" populated by incredibly hot people, spooky stuff happens and in the end the hot vampire wants to take his revenge on mankind. You even have the Carmilla in Tanya. The execution is... not quite successful, to say the least. In any case, whenever I am afraid of dioxin polluted water (one of the components of agent orange), I am just going to imagine myself as a dolphin swimming in dioxin polluted water. That sounds so nice! I think this is probably the most Dreamcast game that ever graced the Dreamcast. So while I cannot imagine it was fun to play this put a ghastly smile on my face, so thanks for this play-through!

It's interesting you don't get anyone's reaction to Reina's heartfelt plea to the person ready to destroy the world. But you do get her intense reaction to Kei's betrayal (?). I think Reina's ending was cut short, based off that scene of her kissing Alan in the intro.

As rough as this game looked, I think the 3D artists who worked on the cut scenes were trying. There are some cute animations. Someone was trying to give the characters more emotion and personality. I wish there was an extra scene with Reina x Alan's ending. This game really needed more cute moments with Kei and Reina. It really didn't seem like either of them care too much about each other. :/

The 4x Alan “death” scream was beautiful. I kept hoping you’d increment it to 5x and then 6x partway through just to add to the gag, but that alone was worth the price of admission. … which is admittedly free on my part. I am, after all, the cow that the ad companies are consuming. But just imagine I paid money to see this instead.

Disappointed that there's not a secret ending where Ricky blows up an outhouse and it blows up Christalia. Also, re: elemental trauma, you could say that Agent Morgan was traumatized by earth.

There is a secret ending that requires four or eight hours (I forget the exact amount, but it's an excessive amount of time) to pass before meeting the doctor. I forget if the coop mode has a different ending.

They should re-release this game on modern platforms with no change but adding third secret romantic ending with our good friend morris the brain in the jar. Hes the bisexual option obliviously.

This game would definitely be forgottable if it weren't for the utterly insane cutscenes. All the tedious backtracking, awful combat, and questionable puzzles are redeemed by the promise that just around the corner there will be another Reina candy rage, another "are you serious" nonsensical Ernest/Alan infodump, or more of Schnider's delightful goon laugh. It has the same sick, delightful B-movie appeal to me as OverBlood. Except the vests are bigger and the Pipos are far worse.

I said this before, but it very much feels like the developers wanted to do a lot more with this than they had time or budget for. I can only imagine it'd be a lot more fleshed out if they had the chance. Say what you will, this is a bit of a diamond in the rough to me... just... a very small, rough diamond. Alright, and now a question: . . . . . . . . . . Do you think that... A. Reina and Kei were a couple before coming to the island. During Kei's secret ending, he falls in love with Christy without telling Reina, and cheats on her. 2. Reina and Kei weren't a couple, but due to overcoming what happened on the island, they bond and they fall in love. Reina cries in Kei's secret ending because of her unspoken feelings for him. III. Reina's in love with Christie and feels Kei stole her from her (the secret Yuri option)

This might be the brain-fever talkin' but something about Reina's secret ending is just the right kind of stupid to be adorable and charming. It kind of feels like they were trying to tell a serious story, for like, a split second.

I love our protagonist duo's dynamic. Reina has to do complex mental gymnastics... for what takes Kei just flipping a switch. It's a nice subversion of "man strong but stupid, woman smart but girl" thrope, instead of playing to characters strengths it punishes them for their weaknesses. Also "Candy" is bad for your brain, kids. [edit] DOLPHIN ENDING BEST ENDING.

As you could see in the gameplay her getting puzzles as the dumb one actually makes sense. Kei just solves those segments, cause he doesn't consider them puzzles and actually knows the answer from the get go.
