The technique of blending is invented by johnnie walker, mixing teas in the beginning... Big houses have up to 3 master blenders that mix distiled eau-de-vie to have the same quality/taste/body regardless if one distillery stopped production.. So in my opinion in from 10 bottles you get 10 different tastes its lousy work from the company.. Because if i pay 40 dollars for bottles i expect the same quality. I don't wanna troll, is just facts. But it is a decent overpriced rum, to sweet tho. I will remain at my zacapa 23. Cheers lads

Good to know! I'm trying it for the first time this evening and Wow! Definitely a favorite. I'm heading to the store tomorrow to purchase a few more bottles not only for the holidays but for Christmas gifts. This one I'm tasting is pure vanilla. So darn good! I too am a fan of Rum & Coke, I made something incredible a few weeks ago, I figured I'd share it. Here goes... I grabbed a mason jar and some fresh sweet cherries. I did a 360 slice on the cherries with a knife to open up each cherry. Then I threw the cherries in the mason jar, added rum and a little organic cane sugar. Essentially, I infused the rum with fresh cherries for three days. I shook the jar up once a day.... Listen, the best Rum & Coke aka Cherry Rum & Coke I ever had in my entire life. Absolutely 🔥🔥 🔥! Give it a try.

Bumbu is the craziest, smoothest run I have ever had. I’ve bought expensive ones that taste just like captain Morgan, or kraken. Bumbu simply is a cut above the rest. It’s not like it’s lacking in the abv department either. I love the burn of drinks, but also, when something is smooth and achieves the same thing, I am impressed. Bumbu is easily the best rum I’ve had, to taste not only great, but unique separates them from everyone else.

Just tried this rum... After finding the neck sticky under the shrinkwrapped cork, I was thinking ..oh crap I got sucked into the allure of a piratey looking bottle.. Yet when I popped the cork and smelled it I instantly was jettisoned back to my mothers kitchen circa mid 1970s.. It reminded me at first of banana, with vanilla extract, cherries, and and brown sugar and mom getting ready to beat in some eggs to make one of her fantadtic desserts. The first sip I took had me thinking how this was exactlly why "X" marked the spot.. A true treasure!

My last bottle was full on vanilla from the cork to the tasting, vanilla and that banana that seems to always be in there. Gonna try rum sangria with Bumbu, this summer, letting it mix with fresh fruits (banana included) in my head will be an awesome desert. Very happy to find people here who also have a special place in their hearts for this bottle. Never seen these gentlemen before, took them less them 10 minutes to earn respect though. Gonna swing bottles by these guys first, from now on. Live and learn

Greetings from Barcelona; I've just spent 35 euros on a bottle of Bumbu and man it was a SUCCESS! It's so smooth, pure and with the right amount of sweet that you can drink it like an actual soda. You don't need to mix it with anything else, just the rocks. Paradise. I'd say that Bumbu is one step ahead of the 12-20$ classic spanish rums, unless you buy a 55$ Matusalem bottle or something.

I bought this as a prop for my Halloween costume this year... I was a pirate, literally just wanted the most piraty lookin bottle lol. Was blown away with how much I liked it. Stuff was exactly as you described, bananas foster with cherry. It's so complex, yet approachable, one of the best rums I've ever had.

Sometimes its super silky smooth and sometimes it has a bit more of a kick alcohol burn but it is always bananas and caramel smooth rum meant to be smashed straight up in a shot or neat. Definitely correct about the various countries sugar cane changing the flavor but also the smoothness in shots. Dominican Republic cane is notoriously extra sweet...so when most of the cane is coming from there the Bumbu will be sweeter and smoother.

what other rum can anyone compare this to? I already snagged me a bottle and I am absolutely blown away by this drink. It goes AMAZING with root beer due to the vanilla notes that It brings. Great review, fellas. All the way into 2021, still holds true.

Honestly when I had this one I mixed it with some A&W root beer and it was the perfect combo if you like that sweet rum and coke mix. The a&w just add that vanilla touch to it. Personally I prefer it on ice though. But y’all should check it out

I haven't been able to locate this one in Chicago as of yet, but best believe I'm going to find it. I enjoy rum and choke... My favorite rum at the moment is Plantation - Aged 5 Years. I actually picked up a new rum today called Uruapan Charanda Reposada, for a young rum, it's delicious. It's perfect for rum and coke.

Brothers & Brothas The short answer is I don’t think so. The reason why I say that is I don’t put Bumbu in a regular rum category. I think of it more like a spiced... another favorite is Captain Morgan Private Stock. (Different profile still but closer). Have you tried Bumbu XO? ((More like a traditional rum)

TheReggie1972 I like to enjoy my beverage so I like the maturity of aged runs ( they have more layers of flavor). I like a little oaky, some sweetness and topped off with some vanilla. As long as those notes are there.. I will usually like the rum. Have you tried anything you like yet?

Bumbu rum is definitely one of the best rum i've ever tried. tried it once in singapore, i tasted a slight hints of vanilla i think, but you truly can taste the herbs in there. sadly can't find a bottle in Indonesia. Fun fact bumbu is actually indonesians for herb/spice/blend of spices. whilst rum is from the carribbean, bumbu is from Indonesia (east indies) don't know how those two got mixed up together.

Coming back from Barbados, I was surprised when almost everyone I spoke to there didn't know about Bumbu Rum. Mount Gay is the rum of choice there. Bumbu is distilled by Four Corners Distillery. Barbados is 14 miles by 20 miles and has a population of 280,000 full time residence......which makes this a real unbelievable fact about not knowing about this rum or distillery on the island. I love this rum! It's sweeter than a lot of rums, and for me Bumbu with a seltzer and a lime hits the spot.

Facts, being a Bajan we most definitely are Mount Gay rum drinkers which is definitely homegrown but this Bumbu isnt bad, if u like sweet drinks. I can mess with this if im just chilling and relaxing.
