Ha ha! I just stumbled onto this! I love the comments, love you fans, and have NEVER stopped trying for a reboot (I also wrote for Reboot). I'm happy to answer any questions ya'll might have. I'll reach out when I have a spare second. I gotta jam on a big project with a small deadline, and then I'm gonna be a Krampus in a living window display tonight. About the closeups and stock footage, yeah, that's all time and budget. We had to pick and choose which songs could use new animation. H2O was a no-brainer; it was one of the best songs I ever wrote and Jim Latham, our composer, got a whole choir to do backups. All of Squishy's stuff at the end about being sanctified and stuff was ad-libbed by Rob Paulsen, who paused for about thirty seconds composing it in his head and then belted it out in one take.@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGoose

The songs were always immediately catchy and most important, super funny. I love the idea too of pitching the idea of a song to a professional choir and the double take they must have done. Animation certainly brings people together in the most unusual of ways. Good luck with the new project and keep in touch! If there ever was a reboot, there's only one actress fit to even APPROACH the idea of Molly, and that's Allison Brie. No, not even SHE could be even HALF as good as Gail was, but she's literally the only one around today that could do that sort of energy any justice at all.

This show holds a special place in my heart. When I was kid me and my big sister used to watch this show. One day, we got into an argument and it got pretty heated. I mean Fists Were About To Fly... Then Bump in the Night came on. It was strange because it wasn't the usual time it came on. We basically froze in place. Turned out to be a new episode too. We sat down, watched it, and by the time the show was over we not only had calmed down enough not to fight but we forgot why we were even mad in the first place. Seriously, we were watching it crisscrossed-applesauce on the floor like well behaved kids.

This show is incredibly underrated the animation gives off this Tim burton and Henry selick sorta vibe and it kinda reminded me of another stop motion show called the trap door (which is also very underrated) it sucks that this show isn’t talked about much it needs more recognition also fun fact the creator of bump in the night Ken pontac also went on to do the clayfighter games, happy tree friends, lazy town and even some of the sonic games

The history of stop motion in general is severely overlooked. And yes, what a unique line of franchises he's been able to work on!

In regards to the songs: Sure they don't use many different animations, and yes they can drag on, but at least none of them are useless to the episode's plot. For example: the H2O song is Bumpy trying to get some water for his pal Squishy, and in "I Got Needs", the song is basically Bumpy telling vikings why they shouldn't take his stuff, or anything for that matter. And then you have Karaoke Cafe, which mostly has songs that aren't related to the episodes. They even had School's Out by Alice Cooper

I'll say this: Jim Cummings' singing voice is certainly memorable! It still sticks with me all these years later.

Great video! This was actually my favorite show as a kid! I remember taping this show off the TV every Saturday morning so I could rewatch the episodes. I watched the season 1 episodes dozens of times. A year later, I got a welcome surprise when I turned on the TV and found out there was a second season with new episodes! The show was silly, strange and the characters were great! It is a shame you really don't see much stop-motion in this day and age. I'm glad others remember this show as fondly as I do.

I only remember seeing this one time as a kid but it stuck with me instantly. I remember the theme fully and the main character and the setting seemed awesome. Unfortunately i didnt understand tv or channels or w/e at the time haha

Fantastic review! I'm always a person who is on board to any show that has a very different kind of art style or concept for it's audience and this show definitely delivered on that. It's so crazy and gross with a lot of it's episodes but it also doesn't take it too far and still leaves a lot of charm in their episodes that really keeps me interested in seeing what other ideas this show can bring. Like you said in the review it didn't change anything in the animation industry or lead to any cult following but it did give a lot of entertainment during that time period and that's all it needed to do.

It's one of those shows that more than likely will never get a reboot, or any widespread acclaim, but for those who saw it, we know how entertaining it was! A big part of my Saturday morning for sure!

Describing cartoons to people is always a challenge. Trying to describe Bump in the Night makes you seem like a delusional person. Mr. Bumpy was definitely a creepy crawly, but how can anyone resist Jim Cumming's voice. And thanks! New video will be out on the 13th that has a striking similarity to this one 👀
