I’m a 61 years old and I’m still looking at going faster, this tutorial corrected some long ago learned bad habits ..I listened carefully to where the downshift happened going into the corner, the 3rd gear exit made a lot of sense..

Hilarious newlywed energy in the intro! I want to second the comments thanking you for the content AJ. I'm coming back to racing after 15 years off and my 15 year old nephew is in his first year and making strides (he's actually whooping my arse in the D class already and he'll probably be going to C sometime next year). I've been bringing your knowledge to our practice which has been helping us get a good base of technique going. We are planning on doing some riding lessons out here in the northwest and I know that we will get our money's worth by not wasting time on covering some things we could be taking care of beforehand. I can't tell you how much we appreciate your time in putting these videos together.

Great intro. Our tracks get like this pretty quick given they are mostly sand tracks so this will help plenty. Thanks again.

This video is really helpfull cause i live in the Netherlands so the most tracks are sandy like, so the most corners are pretty bumpy

I find myself with my thumbs on top of the grips. Is that a no-no, and something I should consciously work to avoid?
@jakob314484 жыл бұрын
kings17court yup!
@AjCatanzaro4 жыл бұрын
Riding with a loose grip is a good thing, but that’s a bit extreme! If you hit any type of unexpected bump your hand would just fly off the bar. Sometimes I’ll do that grip on my xc mountain bike when I’m pedaling hard, but definitely dont want to do that in moto
@kings17court4 жыл бұрын
@@AjCatanzaro Thank you both for the reply. I catch myself doing it especially with my left hand. I think to myself, "I don't think that's right. But at least you won't break your thumb in a jarring impact." The grip feels decent in that position, but obviously not as strong as with the thumb under the grip. Either way, my gut was telling me it was wrong, and it's good to have confirmation.

What mount are you using for the GoPro? And is that the same kid that was training on the 50? In previous videos?
@logandoubleyou25494 жыл бұрын
Love your videos aj! If other people were interested in this idea also would you be interested in making a video strictly on right corners? Braking into a fast right with your right leg already off so not able to use back brake. I’m never able to carry a lot of speed into a right corner, hopefully this made sense lol thank you
@AjCatanzaro4 жыл бұрын
Nothing changes with a right hander. I teach to get off the rear brake so early that it doesn’t matter whether you’re turning right or left. If you struggle to turn right, then you’re just using the rear brake too late into turn
