India fucked it sadly. Once again the last 4 wickets hurt us. We could have been chasing 250 and batting on Day 4. Bumrah is a legend. Very much the next Sachin of Indian cricket. Like every time you ask him he delivers a genius performance. Let’s hope for the best tomorrow I guess. Well played Australia.

As an Indian, I feel so much pride to see a fast bowler from India terrorizing the opposition. I don’t think I have seen anything like this since Steyn and Johnson at their peak. It’s a damn shame Jaiswal had a shocker of a day in the field because Ind could have been in with legitimate chance of winning had they lead been between 250-270. The pitch seems fine. It’s just about seeing off the new ball. Lyon and Boland looked really comfortable, frustrating Ind to no end. I can only see two results now. A draw is very feasible but Ind batting is dicey still. An Aus win can happen if the top and middle order continue to be fragile. A very small marginal chance lies with India if they snap up the last wicket immediately and someone like Jaiswal and/or Pant does a Sehwag. But that’s a very remote chance.
@Silk1970
@Silk1970 Ай бұрын
Agreed. I think the win is very hard now for India. If they knocked Australia over for 280, if they were able to bat time they win, but now they have to take risks and successfully bat time to keep up the run rate. As an Aussie, the new ball is critical. if we get early wickets, India are under the gun all day. If we don't, then they can settle into it and maybe lift the run rate too.

While I agree Rohit's demeanour has been off, the main frustration with Jaiswal's drops has been because they've been constantly telling him to stay low. Even in the first innings they were emphasising that point, and it doesn't seem like he's taking fielding up close seriously.

India will likely go for draw and if Kohli still touches an outside off delivery, he should retire and if not be dropped. Unless the Indian top order put hard yards, it's Aus 2-1.

@Silk1970 But still Australian batsmen who have been past it adapt, look ugly, struggle and drag their way towards their objective occasionally. This clown has been getting out the same way since 2014 and out of form since 5 years. Tomorrow the objective for Indian batsmen is to consume as many balls as possible. Still this guy will get out after getting 'a peached delivery' which will be ordinary for others. He won't bother looking ugly and staying on the pitch. He came in Perth at 275-2 when there was almost a guaranteed win for India.

Requests for TFW episodes when there isn’t completely off tap bullshit good cricket going on: 1. Best ground acoustics - crowd and shot note. From the stands, not effects mic; 2. Classify & rate every cricketer ever based on bat brand used & then rank by career & innings. So we’ll have “GOAT Gray Nics/ Kooka/ GM/ SS/ County/ DF/ MRF user etc” 3. Campaign for sanctions against batters redoing their gloves every time they take strike. Love Our Pat but every time today & it does impact over rates.

Adam took 40 seconds but he didn't mention those crucial dropped catches that helped Australia get to 333 😅 If it would be 99-7 (Marnus out early), then it could have been a different ball game altogether. Disagree. It's about 3.5 an over to win. That's a lot on a 5th day pitch. There were a lot of mishits and play and misses against bowlers not named Bumrah. If India had held their catches they'd have been batting well before the close. The last wicket partnership occurred with the old ball against a tiring bowling line up. Australia will get 2 shots with the new ball. I think if Australia get early wickets, they win. I think India are a better chance of drawing than winning.
