Strewth! That was a scary, exhilarating and exciting day for cricket fans! On the KL Rahul wicket, My position was/is that it was out. I noticed something ONLY coz I got into a Twitter conversation with someone on it who sent me the replay video from the front vision and asked me if I saw a deflection of the ball and so I paid attention to the ball. The video clip of the replay from front vision shows that as the ball pitches and climbs towards the batter, the seam position of the ball is steady in one direction as its climbing, and just as it moves past the bat (no gap there that I can see), the seam moves direction as if theres been impact. The bat is behind the pad at this point and not touching the pad. The ball goes through and the bat hits the pad next. So for me, the ball brushes the edge and its out. Illingworth got it right. But I totally agree with you guys abt specialist umps and you have been advocating for that for a while.

I really think you guys are a little less informed on the Washy selection. If you followed the recent ind vs nz series, he completely outbowled ashwin and jadeja. Jadeja has got to a point where he needs a turning track to get any wicket. Ashwin has been on a constant decline over the last 12 months. And on current form Washy is a much better batter than both of them
