This formation breakdown is terrific! As someone who never played football but loves the game, seeing how different formations/plays work against different defensive alignments is super cool. More of these style videos please!!

Thank you very much. This one was fun to do and is how I learned the game. Foundationally, on the defensive side of the ball, we were all about formations and Personnel. I hope to do more of these now and in the season.

Thanks. I am glad you enjoyed it. Trying to finish one on a Jill run concept that he uses where the WR is used as a lead blocker inside the formation. Tough for a WR but Ben Johnson clearly expects them to do it, and Amon St. Brown does it.

This is a great breakdown of the offense that Ben Johnson has. You did a great job. You made it easy to understand. Let’s Go Lions.

@@all_22_films thank you. I was curious. Did you hear that TJ Hockessin was traded to the Vikings because he was running wrong routes and he caused a pik 6 and a int. And after the Vikings got him Cousins int went up. Is that something you would be interested in to do? If not that’s cool. Thanks brother.

The deeper you dive into the lions offense the deeper you will find that it is going to become unstoppable, They may figure out concepts, but now the talent on the lions is too much to overcome watch. What happens this NFL season ✔️

Jameson Williams is the key to this, he really takes the top off of defenses and Detroits potential wont be shown until week 7 onward

Great point. I agree. Working on a video on B Branch, because I think he will be a big asset. And Gardner-Johnson, just two great pickups.

@@all_22_films its wild how far that unique “position” has developed. Isiah Simmons was such a big question mark for AZ and hes becoming an asset.

Great stuff. Now imagine that's Gibbs running that jet sweep with Montgomery in the backfield and you start to see why they went and got him at 12 cause I guarantee Gibbs isn't getting caught from behind and he's probably not getting tackled one on one either. The Lions are going to be a problem this year

I wonder if what you’re talking about in terms of the Floyd mayweather/Anderson Silva approach is why the patriots were able to shut us down. I know bellicheck is known for high iq defensive players and schemes. Considering how good the offense was last year, I have a hunch Ben and the staff will have an even better year this year

"What do we think about this video?" Seen in isolation I don't think too many people are gonna be impressed by "they held this in their pocket for X minutes." There's little context here. Do other OCs _not_ do that, plus it was hardly a lot of yards or a first down. So even if holding back on that was a big deal, the results didn't show it. So maybe say something additional. By itself, it isn't much.

Are we talking bout the two Jet Sweep plays to St. Brown that went for 58 and 10 yards against Washington? The second of which set up the game-clinching 4th and 3 completion to ... St. Brown? Of course other OC's try to do this - run plays they know will "work" at a time of their choosing - but often Defenses are able to defend the same formation from multiple fronts/coverages. In this case, Washington was not. And Johnson and the Lions exploited it, twice, Seems pretty substantial since Washington ended up being the Lions only win thru 8 weeks. And since the situation Johnson chose to use the Jet Sweep in came after Washington closed to 22-15 with about 3 minutes left in the 3rd Q. The Lions Punted on their previous 4 possessions, and then Johnson opens the next drive - the Lions 11th - with a play he knew would potentially hit big, and it did.

@@all_22_films Seeing it go from 58 _then_ 10 yards kind of makes it seem like WAS _did_ adjust to it. Not fully, but enough to keep them from breaking off 10 yards. Again, without seeing it in a larger context of other teams _trying_ similar things & failing, failing because they _don't_ try similar things etc., this video in its self-contained self left *me* feeling indifferent. Maybe part 2 can change that, but you're still kind of new at this & Every Video You Make might be the one that makes someone decide to subscribe or not. Even if I'm not sure what, this just feels like there's something missing. I can only speak for myself.
