Summary:
For weeks, Atsushi Nakajima's orphanage has been plagued by a mystical tiger that only he seems to be aware of. Suspected to be behind the strange incidents, the 18-year-old is abruptly kicked out of the orphanage and left hungry, homeless, and wandering through the city.
While starving on a riverbank, Atsushi saves a rather eccentric man named Osamu Dazai from drowning. As much as I love the manga version of the scene where Dazai laughs hard at Chuuya's impression, the anime version actually has a pretty good meta joke that the dub missed. In Japanese, Chuuya's telling him "you're supposed to laugh" as if to imply Dazai forgot his line.

Chuya's ENG DUB does sound like he's seducing his enemies, I'm like: "Take me baby~!" And Dazai's ENG DUB is honestly my favorite. He's perfect, he sounds so good. Like he would be laidback one minute, another second later he's dark and cryptic but then he would light and free on the funny parts.

They're both great, but I love how Chuuya's voice sounds in the Dub. It's so unique. I also love how condescending Dazai can sound in the dub, whereas the sub just makes him seem playful. Like I said, I like them both, but something about the dub voices just makes me happy.

I dunno why so many people are hating the dubbed version. I watch most of my anime on Funimation, and though I’m an avid sub watcher, Funimation only has BSD in dubbed, so I watched it in dubbed. Personally, I enjoy the dubbed versions much better than the subbed. I just don’t think the subbed versions fit them.

I think it's for several reasons the most apparent is for the audiences laugh. But the scene also established the characters. We know that they are really familiar with eachother not just like classmates or coworkers but two people that has been by each others sides for so long they know the others thoughts and moves. It also shows that though they say they hate eachother and get on each other's nerves for fun, they one hundred percent trust eachother. And the girl voice scene shows that since it makes it obvious dazai and chuuya are really close friend or loved one and it shows that they (chuuya more RN and dazai later in series) trust eachother completely even after one betrays/abandoned the other. Does that make sense?

I also think it’s an inside joke for manga readers. In the manga, chuuya says ‘you won’t have your way with me again’ without dazai’s reminder and dazai laughs. But here, dazai has to remind him and chuuya demands him to laugh like how the manga goes. I may be wrong though, but I remember seeing this reason go around in other videos that are the same.
