@@Misunao23 imo the line ended with Kyoka, but that doesn't mean the individuals' abuse ended too. Mori is...idk actually he's lowkey a good leader. Akutagawa basically let Kyoka free and both doesn't bother the other much + he said he didn't want to use her, rather 'give her life meaning' or smthn. Dazai is just straight up abusive and manipulative and as long as he doesn't cut ties with Aku, his abusive behavior would still continue :,(

The most significant thing about all this is that although Atsushi led Kyouka to the light, Akutagawa pushed Kyouka away from the dark. Kouyou was right. Kyouka has a darkness inside her that she can’t tame on her own and she demonstrated that by attempting to kill out of vengeance and hatred rather than genuinely for the ADA. Atsushi was supposed to protect her like Kouyou asked of him, but he didn’t. Akutagawa did. With his approval, Kyouka began acting differently. She actually chose paths other than violence even if it was hard. And that can’t be stressed enough. Atsushi is wrong. Akutagawa is more than a monster who disappoints Dazai by just killing. He is much much more.

I don't particularly hate Atsushi but it gets on my nerves whenever he calls Aku some stuck-up over-confident strong dude, or when he listens to Dazai and straight up tell Aku that he's(Atsushi) better than him. I do believe that Aku is now better since Chuuya kinda is his new superior, and I hope Dazai fixes himself first before he influences Atsushi's morals big time

@@aizai8984 true.. it's the opposite of it. He holds a deep respect for Dazai even though he treated him very unfairly. I just thought that a similar circumstance can result to a two contradicting reactions. For Aku it's delight, kyouka it's hatred.. while atsushi is a combination of both. He was trembling having mix emotions that he cannot explain.

@@ploki0123 Yet the person who pushed Kyouka out of darkness the most was Akutagawa. She began behaving differently in her actions after this. She didn’t even hate Fitz for what he said about her before. She knows Akutagawa is not the man she thinks he is. And that might become more significant in the future. Because unfortunately Akutagawa’s time is running out and with less luck than anyone around him, his life continues to crumble apart. If she’s mature enough, then she can return compassion to him when he needs it the most.

Although it wasn't the best way, akutagawa tried to help kyouka. Kyouka believed her life had no worth so he made her kill others because he believed that killing others would give worth to your life. Akutagawa didn't realise his ideals didn't match kyouka's but the fact he tried is so nice(where is my vocabulary when I need it) Ahhhh I love him so much. He deserves better

My personal headcanon: Akutagawa's role is not just to be Atsushi's rival. But also to be a "Stealth Mentor" for him and Kyouka. Do you agree ?

My view~ Aku and Atsu mean so much to me, as every soukoku generation seemed like rivals but the truth is they complete each other. Thus, making each other grow into better people. Aku and Atsu are both orphans Dazai chose to save, but only with Atsushi he knew how to properly raise a child from the dark to the light (remembering Oda's words) because when he tried to save Aku it was the time Dazai only saw the violent ways to raise him. Being the way Oda told him, Dazai successfuly brought Atsushi a positive life so now he wants to make amends for what he did and raise Aku's potential the way he failed to see in the past: by using kindness. So he paired him with Atsushi, cause as black and white they complete each other and can fill each others voids better than Dazai could ever do, now Dazai understands this. Perfect for a new generation of soukoku to grow. So Dazai and Oda won at the end :)

0:33 I love this line and the following lines that come after so much because they're so clever and have a double meaning. One could argue that Akutagawa is talking about himself or that he is talking about Dazai (or both) because the description fits both fairly well. It can be said that both Dazai and Akutagawa saw no value in their own life, and both "met a certain person, joined a certain organization, and ceased to desire death." In Akutagawa's case he met Dazai, joined the Port Mafia, and I suppose ceased to desire death, though we get no indication that he was suicidal prior to meeting Dazai (though tbf we also don't really get many hints about his past so it's possible he was sadly). The same sentence applies to Dazai too though, Dazai met Oda (or possibly he is referring to Fukuzawa), joined the ADA, and ceased to desire death. Erm, okay so that last one's a little debatable since he still seems to be trying to commit suicide and talks frequently about committing suicide, but I have a theory that Dazai has ceased any serious attempts to commit suicide since joining the ADA or thereabout. I theorize that his current attempts and discussion of suicide are more casual in nature, not as serious, maybe even a dark joke on his part/way to get attention and annoy people. There may be some small part of him that still unfortunately desires death, but it's more of an afterthought and I believe Dazai has pretty much given up actually trying to kill himself. Well, that's my personal headcanon, at least. Edit: Also not to rain on anybody's parade but y'all do remember when Akutagawa basically told Kyouka she was worthless back on that ship, right? Does nobody else remember that but me? He legit basically told Kyouka she deserved to die and tried to kill her. I mean don't get me wrong, this scene is still kinda heartwarming but at the same time Akutagawa fans seem to have a selective memory when it comes to Akutagawa's own sins and mistreatment of others.

@Snipperoki if you consider the difference in hours when they joined, then sure. Dazai wasn't part of the mafia at the very start of Fifteen. he was just a witness to the mafia boss' "succession". until few paragraphs later, Mori welcomed him and gave him his first mission which led to meeting Chuuya. I think Oda wasn't even in the mafia yet during Fifteen, rather on or before the Dragon Head's Conflict.

Oh and there is Yosano too MAJOR SPOILER BELOW Yosano used to treat soldiers with Mori Sensei. She healed them and then they joined the battle to get hurt all over again. This continued until all of them died. Finally at one point of time, she refused to heal people and Mori Sensei blackmailed her emotionally. She was saved by Yukichi Fukuzawa and he led her to light. Well, now you know why there's so much enemity between DA and PM

He was orphaned along with Gin and he lived with 8 other children. Dazai orchestrated the death of his 8 friends to lure him out to him. It worked and in the main timeline, Dazai caused the death of the assailants and he promised Akutagawa a reason to live if he came with him (obviously a lie). In BEAST, Akutagawa killed the assailants himself and Dazai found him a boring beast and took Gin with him as bait to one day come after him after he realized what he did wrong.
