Good morning Sunshines! 🤠 When framing walls, going bigger tends to be better. A 4x6 would look pretty cool after its been stained and offer plenty of support. 4x4s tend to look more like tooth picks under big beams. Keep on trekkin'! 🖖

I agree. I wonder if those supports are needed in order to make the second floor safe for usability/habitation. I figure, if a post must be in the way, might as well give it purpose. For example, put shelves around it, or several hooks for hanging things.

The Arms family homestead has a lot of animals to watch and see them do stuff on youtube. The dog will probably like it. If there is a chep place for me to live at where one is at just let me know and I will move there. My place is too old and cold to live here anymore. Am Paul and am disabled and a shut in at home with low blood sugar. We cannot bicycle or hike anymore. I can walk some with a walkers though. Wednesday am comming up on 69 years old. As long as it is cheap I don't mind moving to Yoming. I worked at Womsutter Yoming at the dinner, she showed me around and left and I was to tend her place for that day. The whole town got drunk. I would be very hesitant to remove the beam. There may be a slight gap but, under load it may close up and be important to holding up that ceiling/floor. Good Luck, Rick
