Josh, I just wanted to comment THANK YOU for showing the unit with the slide-out in. I'm considering upgrading from my Mini Lite 2304 to a Geo Pro, and this floorplan is high on my list. I've been wary of slide-outs, because I frequently stay places where I can't put the slide out, but still need to be able to crash for the night. NOBODY does this, but you did. Just earned a subscribe from me, and I will be keeping an eye out for videos in the future.

You do a great walk through on RVs that when the time comes I'm gonna come there to pick up a geo pro. Been looking at the 19fbs and this model. I like this model as it can sleep 6 but the 19fbs has the sofa in the slide out. I know I'm splitting hairs here. Lol Be really cool once they go to a 12v AC.

Great video. A few questions I have are 1) How comfortable would a family of 5 (one is a toddler) be in it for 5-7 days? 2) How many 190w Panels could you get on the roof? 3) If we wanted to put a bigger TV in there, is that possible, and 4) Could a 3" bumper with 2" hitch receiver be installed on the rear frame? 5) Could a slide topper and ToyLok be installed?
@JoshtheRVNerd3 жыл бұрын
Some attempts at answers: *FAMILY OF 5 COMFORT:* Comfort is a tricky thing as it's very subjective. Some folks are fine being packed in. I feel my family of 3 would get cabin fever in something like this. TYPICALLY a bunch of people in a small space yields a trade-up in less than 3 years. *ROOF PANELS:* I really don't know how much physical space for mounting is available up there, nor do I know if Rockwood made factory allowances in their laminated roofing for mounting points for additional panels. *TV SIZE:* I think there's some extra space for a larger screen, but not much larger. *HITCH:* No. The factory doesn't allow for that and the frame isn't friendly to those types of add-ons like a FW's thicker I-Beam frame The more I read your questions the most I think you would likely be happier long term with something just a small nudge in size up. Here's an example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYbSaGywiLCDaM0 though other options exist as well.

Can you replace the dinette for theater seats? That would make this trailer perfect!
@JoshtheRVNerd3 жыл бұрын
No, not in this one. You can't put a theater seat in a slide that's a big step up above the wheel wells like that. Your head would be up thru the slide ceiling. needs to be floor-flush slide So if you size this one up enough to make room for a theater seat you get this one: → kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqOxinmCn7p2ack You'll see a U-Dinette in that, but theater seating is possible there
@yvettestewart80023 жыл бұрын
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you for the info. The backs of the theater seats didn't seem that high to me. I'm only 5'1" so height in any trailer is never a problem. I wanted to make sure the weight of the slide could handle the seats. Also I like the bunk room in the back. I would have to upgrade to 2509 mini lite, which is 3 ft longer. Quick 2nd question. I want to double tow with this trailer. I want to put a 5'x8' trailer holding a sidecar on the back. Possible total weight of bike and trailer is 1300 lbs. Is this possible? I also looked for a toy hauler but the never look as nice and homey as travel trailers. Also I travel without the bike if needed.
@JoshtheRVNerd3 жыл бұрын
@@yvettestewart8002 It's not the back of the theater seat that's the challenge -- rather it's the bottom of the slide. The slide out in this does not go all the way down to the floor. When you start a theater seating 6-9" higher, then you're suddenly sitting far higher up than intended. The small sofas you see in this RVs are actually basically setting directly atop the raised slide floor but it looks/feels more natural since they rest at a more organic height Regarding double towing: That is not legal in 48/50 states. The trailer is also not built for that kind of use from the factory with an accessory hitch rather than a towing hitch. Provided your local statutes allow for doubles towing you'll need to have a fabrication shop bulk up the framework & run some trailer wiring for the 2nd trailer. We are unable to provide that level of modification for you here at our facility.

@JoshtheRVNerd3 жыл бұрын
Factory hitch weight is always empty so of course it weighs more with propane, batteries, and cargo. That's also why you need to factor a proper load distributing hitch. Assuming max cargo you're super close to your max capacities. With cargo evenly distributed you'd be in the black, but RIGHT at your max. For limited towing... probably ok. For frequent/long towing You'd probably find the experience uncomfortable

This would make using LTE easier in low signal areas or parks with no wi-fi. 2) This floorplan screams for a sofa/love seat in lieu of the dinette similar to the 19FBS. Usually the biggest hiccup with bunks is their 74"-ish length. I'm 200lbs and I crawl on them all the time for reference. Different RVs have different bunk ratings and I cannot memorize them by model. Our team at 800-256-5196 is always happy to eyeball that specific RV for you in return for the fair opportunity to earn your business!

How do these compare to the No Boundaries 19 BHS in terms of overall quality?
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
Rockwood is and has been the single best selling ultralite for over a dozen consecutive years now. They're one of the most highly sought brands by retirees and have been. They've earned their success thru consistently putting out superior product.
@carltuckerson77184 жыл бұрын
Well I've been doing my homework and it was a little confusing at first. But it turns out they're both Forest River products. You've got the Forest River No Boundaries and GeoPro by Rockwood (also Forest River). In this case it's the G20BHS vs 19.8 for NoBo. So, it appears that the GeoPro is a hair more upscale to the No Boundaries. It's not much. GeoPro has the outdoor kitchenette and large storage door by the bunks. Outdoor kitchenette is one of the features that you can't find on any of the NoBo's. I literally just got back from the RV dealer to look at the NoBo. An issue I'm coming across is there aren't any GeoPros available in Oklahoma so I can't go check it out. I really appreciate your reviews - I watch them all the time. Thanks for the reply.
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
@@carltuckerson7718 Something to remember -- "Forest River" is really just an overall banner -- like a holding company in a way. Each "division" or brand at Forest River is fiercely independent of one another and absolutely operates at market competition Generally speaking a NoBo is really just an R-Pod with a revised front end where Geo is truly a "mini travel trailer" They're both fine products in their own respects. Geo generally "speaks" a little more to an audience seeking upscale features with a heavy balance of on and off grid features NoBo has over time directed themselves a little more to the "on the trails" crowd Two sides to the same coin in that sense.

Can a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica @3,600 lb max tow this?
@JoshtheRVNerd3 жыл бұрын
As much as I'd like to make your day I 100% do not feel this is an appropriate pairing for a Pacific with that rating. The empty weight of this RV is already occupying 100% of your max tow rating And that's before a shred of cargo is added. Even something 3,000lbs empty on the nose is uncomfortably heavy for that vehicle pairing, but at least in the upper segment of your safe towing ranges. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmGtY2SBfa6midk is an example of something that is already heavy enough I'm squirming in my seat by even linking it, but THE ABSOLUTE MAX you should ever look at and ONLY if you plan on minimal cargo for shorter trips

It’s spooky to me how few trailers use Azdel and still use Louan which too me is a downright scary material to include in trailer construction because of its vulnerability to water, rot and mold. BTW: No Tricks to go with this Sweet Treat of a unit. As always, another great one in the bag! Happy Halloween!!!
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
Even azdel using trailers typically only use it under only half the sidewall with wood-based materials used in may other areas of the RV -- including laminated floors. Azdel is actually not the ideal material for floor lamination as it has less weight bear capacity across a span vs. lauan. It also has notably less screw retention strength vs lauan. Different materials have different benefits!

@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. They have a few around the same size right now. Geos try to stay at 20ft total length or as close as possible After that you start being introduced to the Mini Lite series of Rockwoods
@MrBklein314 жыл бұрын
Another Great Video. The only question I have is Rockwood and Forest River connected in some way? Their models look very much alike. The GeoPro has been my favorite, but the Forest River has two axels, which I like. Are they made the same otherwise?
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
This is likely more info than you need, but I think based upon your inquiry you'll appreciate the details * Rockwood is a member of the Forest River "Group" of RV companies, but "Forest River" itself doesn't directly build anything. Rather, think of it like a collection of unrelated competitive companies under a shared banner. * Rockwood actually PRE-DATES Forest River & was Forest River's very first acquisition after reforming from it's previous incarnation as "Cobra RV" * Think of each "division" of Forest River like a separate RV company. Rockwood, Cherokee, and Wildwood are all "Forest River Products," but they have *nothing* to do with one another & see each other as direct market competition * Rockwood has a sister/clone called Flagstaff -- perhaps that's what you're thinking of when mentioning "The Forest River has two axles" -- I'm not sure which division you're referencing. Other than the Geo Pro seen here ALL other Rockwood travel trailers are also dual axle units themselves Hope that helps!
