I’ve been told it’s now a lesser batch quality recently so that’s something to consider. Mine is a 22/23 bottle so I’m unsure of whether it’s part of the old style or new style but I do enjoy this one I have whichever it is. It has gone up in price recently though which is a shame!

Intresting review for shure. Thanks! I had the Toiteach a Dhà almost two years ago and did a few comparisons with Mòine. They were about the same in prize back then. I did like the Mòine a bit more. Can't say if T.A.D were a lesser batch, but I thought Mòine were a tad sweeter. T.A.D did come across more earthy at that time. I will definitely consider revisiting T.A.D once again when I find it. Availability for T.A.D at our liquer stores comes and goes. Not currently in stock. But if the prize diffrence is too much, I might not pull the trigger on T.A.D.

I’ve been told recently since this was filmed that recent T.A.D are now lesser batches so I’m unsure of whether mine is the newer lesser batch or not so that could be the reason why? So maybe it’s better to avoid it now since it’s also had a price increase? Unconfirmed though, just an opinion I’ve heard

@@WhiskyWars It can very well be like that. It's really sad if the prices go up and quality down. There's already a few examples of that, in just 2-3 years. If that keep on happening, I'm actually cosidering moving away from distilleries who walk down that road. I can definitely accept some minor batch diffrencies and flavour drifts, but not if every batch gets lower quality over time. If I find T.A.D for a resonable price around Mòine, I will give it a last go. By the way, My Scarabus is actually starting to grow for me. Keeps getting better, but not yet in my top 10, in the same category as other peated 55-58% ABV whiskys. 😋

I totally agree, money seems to rule though unfortunately. I’d love to know, do you find it better than the finlaggan and the illeach CS? I only have the finlaggan but it would interest me. On a side note too, I’ve just spent the whole day reviewing a lot of whiskeys, maybe 6 videos with another 10 still to film this week of some really exciting stuff to share soon, mostly peated scotch’s so I think you’ll like those because I know you’re a peat guy. I’ve filmed so much recently and I think I’m back logged until about June 😅

@@WhiskyWars Wow, I definitely look forward to your coming reviews. Regarding Scarabus, I haven't had the CS versions of Finlaggan and Ileach yet. But If the CS Finlaggan is close to the 50% version, and If the Ileach CS is closer to the 40% and Port Askaig 100 in their styles, I would choose the latter two today over Scarabus.

All signs point to Moine being discontinued. Is this one of those cases where it's living on as a phantom on Amazon as people clear old stock?

They're both ok whiskies, nothing to shout about but certainly enjoyable. I think the Moine is discontinued but the other one (I'm not even gonna try to spell it) is always available at supermarkets and most of the times at a reduced price which makes it the perfect whisky to take to dinner parties or bbqs. Such a shame it’s discontinued if that is the case. I only picked it up a couple of months ago for £32 so I’m glad I finally picked it up if it’s now gone and that’s good to know that “the other one” is always on a sale, it needs to be tbh. 45 is just too much. Cheers! 🥃
