***** have you ever had a bunny? they can bite hard and those back legs are no joke. my bun caught me with those back feet while i was trimming his nails and popped my thumb out of joint. And he bite clear through my fingernail after a butt bath (diarrhea- left a banana where i thought he could not reached, but he got to it...)
@elizabethduran79499 жыл бұрын
***** Have you ever actually held a chinchilla before? Chinchillas have very small bones even as an adult. Bunnies have bigger bones than chinchillas and are obviously stronger and if the bunny kicks the chinchilla or bites the chinchilla (nature: animals attack when they feel threatened/scared) than the chinchilla will get hurt.

Neither of the animals were physically harmed in the video, but they were both subjected to unnecessary stress, which if sustained over lengthy periods of time can actually start to cause physical damage to an animal's body. If they're put together like this, it's only a matter of time before physical harm happens. Rabbits have very strong hind legs that evolved for acceleration (for example, when escaping from a predator) and jumping and sharp front teeth. I've owned rabbits before and let them roam a fairly large fenced area outside their hutch during the day. I've seen one leap and clear a rockery that was about 8ft across. Their legs and strength also make them crazy powerful fighters. Keeping other animal species with rabbits is never a good idea.

For everyone seeing this video & thinking it's so cute/funny: Rabbits tend to carry pasturella which is lethal to chinchillas (who have naturally weak immune systems), so I hope your chin is still alive. Not to mention both are territorial animals and prey animals - allowing each to become stressed out just to make a video is inhumane.

I cannot believe the comments written by jerks on this video. 1: Yes, the animals MIGHT be a bit stressed. There's no permanent damage here, and a little stress is good. It gets the blood flowing. 2: This chinchilla's BEST FRIEND is a white rabbit. Have you not seen the other videos? 3: The chinchilla is in no danger. The owner gave it a little basket to hide in and was obviously there, ready to intervene if something happened. Plus -- it's a fucking rabbit, what the hell is it going to do? They're not known for their combat prowess, needless to say. 4: Animals raised in captivity do not necessarily have a fear for one another. As stated before, this chinchilla is best friends with a rabbit. 5: The poster obviously realized they were not a good pair and even said that they will not be on any more play dates. 6: The poster is obviously a responsible pet owner and if you look at the other videos, you can tell that the animals are well cared for and reasonably happy. Everyone is prone to make a mistake, and in this case, there was no harm, and no foul. I cannot believe how much of a jerk supposed "animal lovers" can be to their fellow humans. I'm sure the owner gets the point.
@ecwinste9 жыл бұрын
Jessica Brown These guys go over the top and it's not constructive criticism. The ones that are nicely informing the owner, okay, fine, point made. However, there are some simply abusive comments that do not need to be said, even though there's like 50 comments already informing the owner like they think either animal is in mortal danger. They aren't.

LangsxD !! But it didn't. We don't need to insulate ourselves and our animals from everything that's going on in the world. Also, a venomous snake COULD have jumped out of the bushes and struck one, or the person doing the filming. Also, a crazy person COULD jump out of their car and shoot everything and everyone in the video. If you live your life based on bad things that COULD happen, you'll probably be living under a rock your entire life.

If you want to introduce them for 5 mins make sure its 100% neutral territory and keep a close eye on them. Dont place an animal in a rabbits established territory. Also, you cant keep a chinchilla and rabbit together and you have to separate them if they start fighting when you introduce them because even in 100% neutral territory, there could be fighting.

oh gosh that is not a happy bunny! Does Legend live alone? When they are alone, they become so territorial! Our Bun when we first got her we had a very elderly guinea pig and they loved each other (Guinea had just lost her sisters so wanted company and Bun was new so was showing subservient behaviour because I think she saw it as guinea's territory. She even groomed her XD) but when the guinea died, Bun had free roam of the garden. Now, two years later we've said about getting another pig (separate cages of course) but it just won't work because Bun's been alone too long and though she's super friendly we wouldn't want to endanger a smaller animal like that. Bunnies are scary when they lunge and bare their teeth. How terrifying must it have been for this poor Chin =(
