I love trees. I’m convinced that they talk to each other! Every spring I use bonemeal on my trees and bushes. I live in Winnipeg Canada so our winters are severe. I always mulch and only use compost and no digging…this I have learned from you Bunny! Thanks for your generosity and your wisdom!❤

Beautiful tree! It's begging for a hug, lol. Interesting information! It seems 'leaving well enough alone' is often the best way to go with the environment. I've been propagating native oaks (we have several varieties here in Southern California). The crow population helps with this, sticking acorns into flower pots and dropping them in out of the way places. If a tree grows on it's own, I try to keep it there, and shape it to work in the space. I strip the leaves off any branches I cut off for mulch. Golden Rain trees (Koelreuteria) are used in street medians by the City, and I have a number of those, which need constant attention. They provide lots of leaf mulch, and sticks for projects. I try to purchase small specimens, or go with volunteer trees, now that I know what the sprouts look like. These include pecans, mulberries, California Bay Laurel, and Mission Olives. Thank you for 'digging deep' with these tree experts! :)

Yes interesting re seedlings apparently jackdaws take the acorns and then they often germinate in bramble thickets. The brambles ward off deer and rabbits so helping them to establish.🐇

I found the film on amazon prime called the secret life of trees - based on the book the hidden life of trees. Wonderful!

Wow never knew that about trees, that they can send out odors to attract the birds to feed on the caterpillars. It's all a giant communication. How fascinating!

Fantastic program on trees. Thank you for introducing to so many tree experts. Bunny, really enjoyed this program which was also so informative. I have a garden full of specimen trees s was especially interested in that information.

Interesting comments about the adverse affect of artificial fertilisers on fungi; I wonder if I could just use fish, blood and bone meal on my lawn in future ? I have struggled with establishing a decent lawn and have been hoping you would do an episode on them - perhaps discussing some of the latest ideas. Fingers crossed !

Maybe there are other reasons the lawn won’t grow such as water -too much or too little? We have established them on just 150mm of soil on roof gardens etc 🐇

Yes, probably poor drainage and compaction - I am guessing pockets of heavy clay from when the house was first built and garden leveled. I am wondering if leaving grass cuttings on top, F,B&B meal and no artificial additives, will help the worms and fungi come to my aid ? Interestingly the chap from the 'Lawn Association' stated last year that artificial fertilizers are bad for grass - but he sells his own product range based on food waste, which slightly muddies the water (?) Thanks for your great videos, I am an avid fan ! @@bunnyguinness
