Just a little constructive feedback. I was excited to see Caryn’s garden but it was such a shame that we didn’t get to see much of her garden/patio at all. Maybe next time the cameraman could turn the camera around to the garden areas whilst they chatted so we could see what they are talking about or they could walk around the garden more so we could see the garden.

Totally agree with your feedback. Probably it’s the video editing skills that’s lacking.

What a lovely visit, Caryn is so sincere in what she is doing, explaining her love of nature and creating for the joy of others. Yes, it is a business yet shows the pride in what she does. Loved this, and would love to see more ❤

How do you make a gravel garden that as the crisscrossing? Example at 17:01. Do you put the smaller gravel down first and then add the larger stones on top? About what sizes are the gravel and stones? And a related question, what size is the gravel at 10:03 where the plants are in the gravel? Thanks. The video gave me an idea for a small area in my yard.

Have you seen Bunny’s videos from about four years ago, Design: Thyme parts 1,2 + 3? She is in the same garden and that may give you some further help.

Isn't it kind of funny how we are almost entirely all about "I" and never about "you". We trim the plants for our pleasure not the plant's , we dead head them for our satisfaction, not theirs... same with businesses, same with passion, same with garden ... lately it has been really disheartening, watching how much of an "I" we are as a civilization... if we did some service or philanthropy even that probably will be for "I" pleasure... I wonder if we even have it in us at all to truly be affectionate or care for the other (be it plant, land or person).. kind of sad.

Yes overuse of "I" usually suggests someone who values themselves above all else. We are an individualist society sadly. And the less money you have the lonelier life is.

Yes, that is true about gardening, we do things for our ends, our pleasure, not the plants'. But we also garden to bring pleasure for others as well. I get no greater delight than seeing people smile when they see my garden. This autumn I'm planting an 80 foot long row of daffodils along the road. I won't be able to see them from the house, but those driving by will get the joy of their bloom. I think we have it in us to be truly philanthropic.

@@romybath318 thank you Romy, and funny enough same applies to the other end of this stick - the more money you have the lonelier life is ... mostly we get surrounded by more and more of superficiality and transactional relationships Romy... It is what it is.. but there is hope and there is light.. I see in many people around me...

I always admired Thyme and your previous videos about it. It’s just PERFECTION to me. The colours, the plants, the materials, the proportions. I’d really like to go one day when visiting England. But being a vegan, an oncologist (and a wanna be gardener) I also have to say: being connected to wildlife and nature does exclude killing and eating other animals to me. Even more since it’s not only unnecessary, but also mostly unhealthy and quite unethical. The German society of oncologists these days recommend a predominant plant based diet. The WHO stated years ago that “red meat” is probably carcinogenic and that sausages and ham are for sure carcinogenic. And why would you admire all the wildlife like owls and red robins but kill young cute little lambs for a 5 minute pleasure in terms of taste? Please excuse me for interrupting this lovely garden channel with this statement. I’m still very very thankful for all the knowledge and the impressions from which we can learn and which we enjoy so much! Lots of love from Germany, Cornelius.
