Let me tell you that you are really excellent at telling true crime stories. I enjoyed listening to the story even though it is sad and horrific. I follow some KZbinrs who tell crime stories, but I have never heard of this story before. It is wonderful that you inspired the story of your doll from a true story. This is inspiring. All the stories that I make for my dolls are inspired by my imagination, but I have no problem doing like you and being inspired by a true story for one of my dolls.

Thank you! Yes. I felt really connected to Sarah from this story, and see a lot of similarities in things going on in the world. It's a pretty horrific one because of the involvement of the literal stolen kids. But if you're looking for a pure evil character a lot of cults are good inspo...🙄

Okay, but I knew this story but still listened to this whole thing while I was working! I like the way you tell stories. Also, if you like true crime, my favorite is RottonMango/Stephanie Soo. She covers a lot of international and asian stories as well i would have never heard otherwise. Also that doll is so cool and unsettling, especially paired with the story. ALSO, i too, use dolls and art to work through feelings.

This was such a thorough re-cap! I’m from Melbourne Australia and I still remember being horrified seeing images of Anne on the news as a child. I actually thought she was a witch as my only knowledge of witches at that stage was Anjelica Huston in the Roald Dahl film 😅 Have you seen or read ‘The Clearing’? It’s a fictional book/series based on The Family.

I mean I think Anne fancied herself a witch, so you weren't wrong there! Oh and the Anjelica Huston witch pealing her face off seems a very appropriate analogy. I have read that book and watched the series. I loved the book, didn't care for the show. I've consumed every piece of media I could get my hands on about this one. This case haunts me, and my brain feels like understanding will make it better, but I dunno...
