I’m not Italian, I’m Indian and I’m not Catholic, but I LOVE that she blessed the dough… that’s what makes food from grandmothers taste so comforting, their love and prayers are in the food. ❤

Grandma, I’m a 73 yr. old great grandma and I have to say, you inspire me with your Italian cooking!! I’m not Italian but people think I am because I love everything Italian! I grew up with two Italian families, the Mariano’s and the Vasterelli’s. You remind me so much of them and I love your accent, your expressions with your hands and watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your recipes with all of us. (My sauce is almost identical as yours except I add sugar and wine as this is the way my Italian families did it.) I came across Gina while searching for a pesto recipe. I now watch Gina with my 88 year old mother. My mother has dementia, but we both enjoy the videos. So much in common with my mother. We came to Toronto in 1969, Gina migrated to New Jersey in 1970. She has family in Toronto, and like my mother all the recipes were in her head. All the stuff she makes, my mother would make too, now I have Gina to refer to for an approximate amount to use. I watch my mom every other weekend and we watch Gina together, my mother says, Gina has been cooking non stop for weeks, lol. Also, every song Gina sings, my mother laughs and sings along with her, must be the age group as they are only 3 years apart. So much in common and such a love we have for Gina. Hope one of her children acknowledge this short, but meaningful note.

She would make me home made pizza, pasta, etc. As I look back now, I miss all the accents I grew up with, Italian, Serbo-Croatian, German, Dutch, etc. I miss the food, and most of all, my Aunties who used to look after me, and feed me. I congratulate Gina not on making pizza but on making her family. I am sure Gina takes little pride in her pizza but great pride in her family. To her family: be proud, the love you show for her, shines through these videos. That type of love is more Italian than American but is certainly not exclusive to Italians. That love and respect may not be noticed by all viewers but it is certainly noticed by some. May God continue to bless you all.

A real treasure. If you really listen. There is so much more than a recipe. Her frugality, in re-use of plastic. To the simple pizza. Born out of a time that it was necessary. But also brings back some fond memories of community ovens. And the aromas of smoke and breads and pizza's cooking. Where extravagance was not needed to make food taste good. We would all do well to learn from her and others that can share their knowledge and experience. You can't find this in any cookbook. 👍👍👍👍👍

I came to watch you bake pizzas to remember the smells in the pizzarias in Roma. Here in USA we go to expensive Italian restaurants for authentic Italian pizza from scratch. We also get to enjoy your songs and heartfelt prayers! Thank you again, Nona Gina! Now it's time for us to pray a blessing over you, loving Nona Gina. Our Father, we thank you for sharing Gina's talents and with us here in her caring way. Bring her sunshine on cold days, excellent health, comfort in moments of sorrow. Many blessings upon her and all her loved ones. In the name above every name, The Lord Jesus Christ. Much love, Sister!

Thank you Gina. I put your videos on and we cook dinner together, usually we are not cooking the same dish. I am alone in isolation during this COVID-19 pandemic and you are my new found cooking companion. You bring back wonderful memories of cooking with my grandmothers (one German and the other, Spanish) many, many, years ago. I love the large, generous recipes you cook with such love for your family. I hope you are well!

You can tell she has done it this way thousands of times, learning along the way, never perfect until her children’s children’s children know & love it. Pass it down, Granny. Love it.

I vote Grandma Gina for President, then we’d see people come together as family, with love, respect, and joy. Thank you so much, I’m always happier after looking at her cook
