There are lot of "chefs" making Italian food on KZbin, but Grandma Gina is now my go to channel for those recipes. Her son-in-law is so lucky, she is awesome. I feel like she is my own Grandma teaching me how to cook way out here in California, but from my home state of New Jersey. What a sweet woman! Thanks for the recipes, I'm happy to see you have a cookbook out now too.

My mother was from Cosenza, Italy and my father from Foggia, Italy. We made gnoochi when I was a young girl. We didn't use the fork or gnoochi board, just a thumbprint in the middle. That was my job. I love to cook and have so many fond memories growing up in an Italian family. I decided to try Gina's recipe yesterday and the added the cheese, which was a very good brand, did not add much to the flavor for me. I froze most of them since it is only me. I was in Roma in October 2019 and there was a restaurant where the chef was making gnoochi in an open window so you could watch. He used a gnoochi board then place them in a sieve that was in a bowl of flour and semolina mixture, cover them then shake off the access then place on a large board to prepare for cooking in the restaurant. Food is love and with shelter-in-place my outside deep freeze is packed since I take up my days cooking. Tomorrow is homemade fettuccine. Thank you Gina. your family is lucky to have you.

My mother is 98. Both her parents came to America from Italy as teens. Her mother was from Sicily; her father, Rome. Mom and I are watching this together. It is so heart- warming observing Mom watching Gina with such fascination. Her mother used to make this for a family of 10! Mom saw Gina and said, "oh! She even has the wooden board!" I took a quick picture. I wish I could share her expression with all of you!

This is the way to do what I call your regular Italian cooking. I call it that because it's not like these restaurants serve, $20.00 dish of spaghetti, I dont think so, give me what I call plain Italian home cooking. My initial thoughts and feelings exactly. In this time when our elders are deemed by some to be inexplicably and criminally (imo) considered expendable, I cannot think of a better example of why such dark and fatalistic thinking should be utterly and totally rejected than this vibrant and loving woman. Our elders are the repository of the knowledge that will sustain us into an uncertain future. Bless you Gina and the same to your family. Hope you are staying safe and healthy.

Watching you was quite nostalgic. I'm of Armenian heritage, and I'm 63 this year. All of my family elders are passed. My grandmother was a wonderful cook--and our food memories are so evocative. Thank you for sharing your Italian recipes. My grandmother had no recipes, and if she had, they would have been written in Armenian. I think that I got my cooking talent from her and my mom (which everyone in my life appreciates!). Making these videos makes the recipes and techniques accessible--in perpetuity. I've not made your recipe for homemade gnocchi, but made another. We don't eat that much gnocchi, but I wanted to try making it. It is easy and the end result is delicious. Nothing tastes better than homemade anything. The dish this was featured in was a one pot gnocchi with italian sausage, cream, spinach and garlie with mozzarella. Our family really enjoys it. Thank you for sharing your recipes and techniques.

Gina....thank you for teaching us younger ladies “how to do” videos. I can not express in words what an inspiration and encouragement you are to me. Would you mind sharing what brand of potato ricer you used in your video? Also, I am looking forward to seeing your next video. Please tell your son in law and daughter “thank you” for me, for taking their time to edit your videos.

I remember as a child helping my nonna and helping my mother form the gnocchi with a fork. Sixty- five years have passed since that time, and you have inspired me to try making them for my family. Thank you so much for this video. Gina is such a gift to this world, and her wonderful team is extraordinary. Her uplifting messages and her genuine care for her viewers are a reflection of her compassionate character and kindness. God Bless you all.

I pressed the wrong button! I loved when you said to keep busy. That is the way to control our thought! I am going to make some gnocchi and think of all your love.

I cry when I watch you (in a good way) because you remind me of my Grandmother who cooked and talked like you! She was born in Palermo and when she was little she cooked with her Grandmother. For the Duchess of Palermo! Much love to you always.

OMG! First time watching this and I’m in love with her. Ím not Italian but I love all cultures and food. You can tell she has a slight disdain for the ¨Pecorino¨ but she does it for the sake of her son-in-law. Same thing with the tomato sauce. I’m looking forward to making this and watching more video’s of her.

Thank you, Gina. My grandparents came from Avezzano, Italy. They brought a lot of recipes with them also.I remember as a little girl, watching my grandmother making homemade ravioli on the dining room table. We don't realize how much tradition is so important until we're older. God bless you and your family, you bring back so many memories. Keep cooking for us.
