(I shouldn't be replying to 9 month old comments, but..) Actually, 'boku' is usually the standard term used by any singer, boy or girl, in song. I don't recall the specific reason why it is this way, but 'boku' is used frequently by female singers in song, I'm sure, not meaning to intend the male-connotation 'boku' while speaking. :)

@KazeKey they say 'boku' when referring to themselves. 'boku' is a male way to refer to yourself, as with 'ore'. it is rude to refer to yourself as 'boku', usually girls use 'watashi' or 'atashi' (watashi' can be used by guys aswell.) also, one of the lines is 'Why does that girl shine so bright again today?' its just kind of weird xD
