Goddess is a nice warm vanilla that works well for fall & winter, i like it but it's not my favorite Burberry scent. When i first smelled Devotion i literally died and went to Heaven, omg it smells so amazing. No lemon to me, but a candied orange and vanilla and sort of a beachy scent in the dry down. The bottle is so beautiful too, I can't get enough of it!

I love both but Devotion is great for going out and the Goddess for staying in…for me anyway. I really don’t understand where other reviewers are getting the lemon scent from…other than what Fragrantica says…but oh well…I’m glad it doesn’t as lemon does not work on my body chemistry 😊. @decadentnight I don’t get a powdery note from either. I think the best question to ask yourself (if your going to get just one of these) is: would I rather have a bakery note with my vanilla (lemon) or would you like a relaxing lavender that isn’t herbal. I love devotion, I get lemon in the first minute, it very quickly goes into lemon muffins! Its perfect for winter and so sweet and cozy!

Great review and confirmed some of what I experienced. I too was interested in both of these fragrances so in September I tested both several times . I thought both were gorgeous at first, but Goddess dried down to a French soapy scent on me - all lavender - and sadly gave me a headache. Whereas Devotion initially on the dry down had a lemon meringue scent that turned to a gentle baked lemon cookie due to the vanilla. It was addictive and surprisingly subtle. I splurged on a large bottle of Devotion (using points at Shoppers Drug Mart!!) and one month later I still love it. It is not long lasting on me, but I really love it for the fall. Yummy.

Devotion only last about 4 hours on me but my body chemistry just gobbles up fragrance. I like both but I think Goddess will be a bedtime scent for me (I don’t get a headache from it but I can see what you’re saying about the lavender soap scent). I will say…if designers or houses are releasing VANILLA fragrances for the next 4 months…I’m in trouble 😳. I love vanilla forward scents. Thank you so much for watching ❤️😊~Kim

Great video! I like them both….goddess is definitely more of a warm, cozy scent! I was at SDM yesterday and tried both. It’s hard to decide between them. I am going back tomorrow for 20x event. I may end up with a small bottle of both 🤣🤣

I’m a Perfume Critic & I’m Must Say I’m Sooo Disappointed with Dolce & Gabbana Devotion 😢Unfortunately it smells horrible When I tell you I Literally have Every D&G Bottle ! I was Expecting So Much More!!!! Now Burberry goddess 1 st literally last all day & leaves a beautiful vanilla note! So my vote is Burberry✅ 💯

Ok yes we know anyone can wear anything but calling Burberry Goddess a unisex fragrance is so misleading. No one cares what anyone else wears but for reviewing purposes most people use words like feminine, masculine & unisex as guides to determine if it fits their personal style. I'm so tired of fragrance reviewers saying everything is unisex. If it makes you uncomfortable to make the determination for fear of attack, maybe say that something leans "tradionally feminine". That would help those not looking to veer out of a certain lane make a determination. Burberry Goddess is one of the most traditionally feminine fragrances I own, and I only own feminine perfumes. Also, just having Lavender doesn't in an of itself make something unisex or masculine.

Anyone can wear what they want. I LOVE when reviewers say feminine, masculine, and uni sex. It is information to describe a scent. Feminine tends to be more sweet and floral..masculine more woody etx. I, for one, tend to like feminine scents. It is enormously helpful because I blind buy from time to time, it is very helpful .

I couldn't agree more. The new trend in reviewers and designers proclaiming and marketing everything as "unisex" is driving me crazy, and I don't mean any disrespect to the creator of this video - I truly don't; I actually loved the video. Not only does announcing everything as "unisex" make it very difficult to be a discerning consumer and only serve to allow companies to sell to a larger market, but it speaks to a larger problem in society of the push toward androgyny and purposely ignoring the stark differences between the sexes. Men and women are NOT the same (every met a man?!), and we usually have markedly different preferences in everything from dress, colors, scents - you name it. And thank God above for that! I certainly want to know beforehand that the fragrance I am buying for myself is feminine, and I want my man to smell like a man. 🥰 Love and blessings to all!

I don’t get lemon in Devotion either! Maybe a bit of candied fruits, but not lemons. It’s beautiful! I still prefer Goddess, though, it’s more wearable for me, but I love and will keep both of them ❤❤❤

I received a sample of Devotion and I can’t wait to purchase a large bottle. The longevity and spillage was great. I love white florals. This Is my first gourmandy fragrance as I get the cozy lemon vanilla sponge vibe. I work with children so it is work appropriate.

I couldn’t relate to your review at all. Burberry goddess is so not masculine. My mouth fell open to hear you say that. I think Devotion outclasses Goddess especially in longevity. I often love to spray Devotion after a shower before going to bed and even after tossing and turning in sleep I can still smell it in the morning. Devotion is a stunning fragrance and I love it and nicer than Goddess on my opinion which I find harsh in comparison.

I didn't get the very first sniff from Devotion (like first 5 min) cause I sprayed it in the store, maybe I would have picked up the lemon note there. But the drydown was GORGEOUS! Sweet, creamy vanilla. No citrus, no real flowers either (but I tend to like orange blossom anyway). My mom loved the drydown, too. I want this perfume, cause I love vanilla, just as you. But I didn't even spray the Goddess, cause I stronly dislike lavender scent and I didn't like what I smelled from the bottle.

Ever since a girl’s pepper spray went off in high school back in 1998, whenever I smell something spicy, it takes me back to that day. Got the mini of the goddess, thinking the front would have metal and not just whatever it’s made out of. I hate it w a passion. And I love vanilla, also hate the Kayali vanilla one. But the devotion, smells like lemon cake batter to me, and I am all about lemon cake smells. So it’s my fave.

Fair. On myself, I don’t get the lemon but more of a bakery note and thick, sweet vanilla. Funny because when I filmed this video Fragrantica only showed 3 notes…when I did a video about a week later, all the sudden Fragrantica added 2 more notes…and that I agree with as a cake (non lemon) note was added. I'm a man i love this. No wonder. You saying it leans unisex. Thing is most men, again i'm one, I think tend to have a phobia of being associated with anything feminine and so to sell stuff to men it seems EVERY designer markets their scents as overtly male or overtly female. Personally i think it's to facilitates sales.

There are a lot of people who love the candied citrus vanilla profile. Of course some people can't stand it. I love Devotion. Despite the hype. I can get it for $103.00 at Jonas Shop. Steal! It is all a matter of personal preference..plain and simple.
