The red outfit @ 25:47 lmao. I have many of the Best Of patterns already. Burda could have improved"the best of" by increasing patterns to size to 44 imo. The grey dress is nice I made it as a top, ( if you remember it came with a turtle neck collar separate piece) the pattern has darts down the whole stomach? I don't know a lot of women who want darts down the whole stomach? I like the turtleneck & blue dress. I also like the brown skirt and vest, I think will look cute on younger people and frumpy on 40 something me so won't be making it 😭Thanks for posting! 🙂 pretty much I agree with all your opinions.

I hope they will stop with all the best of patterns next year! First, they are not best off, and secondly it is just lazy and crowding the pattern sheets only!

Hi thank you for the flick through, there was nothing in there that jumped out at me a lot of the patterns are the same as previous issues. The dress you like with the button down, tie front, I have it as the paper pattern and it is lovely. ☺

Thank you from Australia. We have the magazine three months later than the northern hemisphere. I really enjoy your opinions and information on the designs too. Best wishes ❤️🇦🇺

Three months! That a long time for our really fast reality. Do Australian sewing magazines exist? I only know Australian knitting magazine, and that's all that I've seen so far about your beautiful countrie's handmade.

@@KatherineTolkacheva we don't have sewing magazines, but Burda and Burda Style have been very popular for many years. The magazines are probably surface shipped to save on freight costs. I used to subscribe direct to Burda for the English version, which always arrived at the time of publishing in Europe. Now I am much older, I don't sew as much, but I do have a large collection of magazines and over the years, I have noticed that fashion styles repeat themselves.

That is a long time! I see that they started with a digital version , here in Germany, the digital version of the magazine, or the digital and some patterns free ( I think 2 ) and other discounts. I find it surprising that Knipmode gives a totally free digital look in their magazine and for Burda is a buying option.

It might be easy for you to disregard the easy patterns but 2 dot difficulty level is just perfect for me 😆😆😆 i actually liked the photography of the first section a lot, the patterned dress looks great and I even liked the easy parka a lot ❤ thanks for sharing the magazine 😊

It is very interesting to hear your explanations and to see the new patterns. People used to be totally in love with Burda patterns in LA years ago. Now, much less. I still like their children's patterns in general because of their practicality. I find their women's patterns too boxy and lacking sexiness. For oversized clothes, I prefer Japanese designers.

The thing is that in the past the choice was much more limited. I bet Burda ( and not only) has a lot of stress trying to stay compatible in a market that is more or less saturated. I find myself sticking with a few companies.

We all try to be positive but it is really hard. Nothing really appeals to me. Luckily thanks to your review I can see that some details give some patterns a little bit of interest. Nothing looks really classy and flattering. I’m sure that if I would show this issue to my husband and ask him what I should make out of it, he would ask me why I spend my time sewing and would take me out shopping for nice outfits. Well, I might consider the cardigan with zero percent sex appeal to put over my pyjamas in the morning and have my breakfast. And then, all this polyester ! Where is the eco-conscientiousness in all of this ! As a home sewist we should all be working with the most noble materials- we deserve it.

Totally agree with your opinion. The zero percent sex appeal cardigan would make my sewing table only for the same reason :) My daughter wants one in a fluffy fabric...to put over her pajamas, she is 14 so she definitely knows what to do with a cardigan like that :))

Thank you for the honest review... i could feel your slight irritation 😅 I find this issue boring, although the wrap skirt and the bomber-ish jacket are nice. And I might try the turtle neck in a solid colour to showcase its details. Will you give us a review of the new coverstitch?

I love that turtle neck, I must give it a try. I have some soft, light weight sweater knit , in a solid color that would work very nicely. The Cover stitch arrived yesterday, it is so cool ! I will definitely make a little video for it!

I am interested in the dress 119, with the two rows of gathering forming a yoke. I have a pattern of a top that is almost the same, with a yoke that has no gathers. I think that altering it to two rows of gathering could be difficult to get right first time. I have not seen a double row of gathers made into a yoke before. All the other patterns, I can hack from the patterns that I already have. I am short and I really miss the Burda Petites for women 5' 3" and under.

l like that dress, it does not have a lot of gathers, just enough, I also like it how they styled it in the magazine. They should think about adding petite patterns again !

Thank you so much for sharing, Camelia, and in the midst of moving 😮. I still have mixed feelings about Burda. I really look forward to the next issue, and am more disappointed than inspired. Your videos are so interesting because you point out technical points and your observations are so educational and I get a new perspective on the patterns, but all in all a dread issue. The colors of the pictures are still off, very grayish and cold. I wonder if this is a new trend for filters and palettes in photography. As for the patterns, some good ones - I usually agree with the ones you like: the cover blouse is cute, the long coat, the dress with a tie; I also like the white shirt, the grey top and trousers, the camel skirt- and some that are a waste of time, space, money to be published at all, not to mention the Best Of that makes me really angry. Well, at least now people can give their opinions and prayers to the gods of sewing they are going to listen and bring the magazine back to its former self. As I say above, a bad issue like the September one. And again, from the preview, November is looking bad as well, and if December is anything like last year’s, 😬😬😬😬😬. I feel like bygone are the days of Burda 😂 even if it’s taking me years to accept it.

I just can´t get it over my heart to give up on Burda :) Maybe they should bring other people in , with new ideas/style! They ask for readers opinions at the beginning of every magazine, maybe we should write there :)

Hmm, there’s no complete garments only a few small details that I really like I’ll have to decide if it’s worth buying the whole magazine for. Chances are I’ll buy it for reference anyway rather than sketch the ideas out or take screenshots which I tend to do when I see something I like, now I have hundreds and will probably never look through them all because there’s so many which is sad because I’ll never sew those lovely details The asymmetric skirt with that has the added godets was in a very recent issue because I remember commenting that it’s something my mum would really like. I don’t have a problem with you flicking back and forth through the magazine, I much prefer the way yours are formatted especially having the images of the garments as they appear on the page and them being bigger, we only get pictures of the garment itself and they’re tiny which for me makes it difficult to see which is which without flicking through. Thank you once again, maybe I’m just old but these videos seem to come out every week these days, time surely does fly

Yes, time is flying! So many ideas in my head and finding myself at the end of the month and did not get the chance to make half of them :) a long time ago I made peace with myself not stressing about all the things I don´t get to make. After my subscription ends, I will take only the digital subscription and if I see something I really like, I will buy the PDF. It will save me a lot of storage too. I am happy you enjoy my videos 🤗

This year including the Burda curvy issues, are quite frumpish and oversized and simple. I would prefer some stylish dresses and suits suitable for professional work and some clothes for casual wear in the same issue. That way beginners could get something to start with and better clothes for the more experienced.
