Do you have any classic and timeless winter sewing patterns you would recommend?! Maybe you've worked with some of these patterns before...and I'd love to hear about them! Also--I fact checked myself 🤣and was surprised to find out that shift dresses actually entered the scene in the 1920's but regained popularity in the 1960's! Fun fashion info : ) Happy (winter and fall) sewing!

Hi Rachel Ann. I've just discovered your channel. I love the simplicity & precise nature of your delivery. You've really made me want to dive into my 40+ year-old stash of patterns and look at them with fresh eyes. PS I too have and love the Midsummer Eve picture by Edward Rober Hughes 😊x

S1254. I made this out of a velvety boiled boil in black with emerald green swirls of proper velvet through it. Had for years now and never want to let it go.

Oh, that sounds so lovely! And sounds like a beautiful piece to hold onto!🪡🧵😊

I have had that hooded coat pattern FOREVER and have always loved it. I see it in boiled wool, which I have never worked with.

Ohhh boiled wool would be gorgeous! You’ve just given me some new ideas in working with this one! 😊🧵🪡

I've made the New Look coat in your first pick and it's great! I used a wool and got a ton of wear out of it. The sleeves are giant, I took inches out of them. The unisex patterns I'm cautious about because I made a jacket with one once and there was no hip room. It seems they're drafted for men and so they're like a slim cut. And the New Look 6644, I know you're talking about the pants, buy I've made that top a bunch of times and it's great! I've used lightweight sweater knits, and rayon rib knits and it's perfect. It's a great length and the bottom band really isn't cinched like in the drawing. I did make cuffs for the sleeves so it looked nicer. Anyway, great pattern picks! Subscribing now :)

I am loving your videos! You are so natural in front of the camera😀. You gave me the idea of making a formal dress with a matching coat. Thinking Doris Day vibes…. Great job!

My granddaughter and I both made the 6644 pants. Love them! She also made the sweater and it’s just wonderful! I have made 2 of the shift dresses in cotton for the summer. I look forward to seeing what you make. I really want to make one of those coats you showed at the beginning. You have given me some ideas.

The first newlook pattern can it be made with reversible fabric??
@dineincreativityАй бұрын
I can’t see why it couldn’t be made into a reversible jacket! That’s a good idea!

I made that first coat with a hood in 1980.

Oh, that is awesome! 😃 those timeless styles are the best. I completely mistook the hood for a shawl but love the hood on it! Happy sewing 🧵🪡
