I like how you can take just a few pieces of gear and squeeze a master piece out of them, Burg style. You never fail to inspire sir.

Wow! I just heard this creation last week. Sounds like a tune that belongs on one of the old albums from Laika , a very underrated group. All you need is Margaret Fiedler laying a chill vocal track on it! Love your work, btw.

The best gear, is the gear you have. Spending bucks on a Strymon pedal is absolutely not necessary. A $10 Casio keyboard will have one or two usable tones that can be fed into a $50 craigslist reverb and a $30 amazon one channel loop pedal. Hell, if you just snap your fingers into a $50 reverb it will sound good. You will still have to make it interesting by actually playing something over top. The gear just makes the space. The player fills that space. That said, this is basically another take on whatever Moog-like and Rhodes-like combo you have access to. When in doubt, Moog and Rhodes... it still sounds as fresh as when it was first tried 40 years ago.
@AwakeFM5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not necessary, but absolutely worth it if you can afford it.
@BURG5 жыл бұрын
Sometime in the future, when I have the money and space.. I will get myself a proper Rhodes, to just nail that mood and creative boost that you get from vintage gear.
@dachanist5 жыл бұрын
@@BURG Rhodes is definitely on my list, there's nothing like the real thing. People buy the Korg SV1 for the same price as a low end Stage. I don't get it. Like if you had the choice between a steinway grand and a korg kronos... You better not pick the Kronos unless you live in a van (not that theres anything wrong with that). Nothing like the feel of real gear. Fully analog, fully mechanical gear. Besides, you owe it to your Sub37... he's lonely without Ms Rhodes.
@dachanist5 жыл бұрын
@@AwakeFM Depends on if your going to use all the fancy digital stuff, For the analog emulations your always going to be better off with quality analog... though that is going even higher. My taste is to hear more of the instrument and less of the pedal, so my effects needs are much simpler. That said, if your picking pedals at random, you should clearly chose the box marked Strymon lol
@AwakeFM5 жыл бұрын
@@dachanist That's a good point too man - I love playing with effects, and have a lot of pedals. Sonically I'm sure there's software they can compare or whatever, but hardware is a lot of fun to use and explore. Effects are an instrument in the right hands

This really boils down to how to set your envelopes, unlike the original these can be tweaked pretty extensively. You can make it bubble with slower attack if you would want to, it is totally up to you as its not set in stone as on the tb-303.
