I bought bags of lentils, baby carrots, celery, onion, garlic, chicken stock, spices, and used all of those cheap ingredients to makes lentil soup. My god, not only is it mouthwatering, but I get SO MANY portions. I even froze some soup for later. Fast food is trash and not worth the money.

I'm not American but it's so incredibly expensive everywhere right now. I found so many cookbooks and videos on here on how to meal prep and it's definitely cheaper and much more healthy! It takes me about 5 hours- but I pick a day that I have some free time and do it. It's so worth it.

It happens to me because I try to eat homemade meals more than eating out. Eating out is mostly TB bean burritos, Street Asada tacos, and Wendy’s $5 Biggie Bag, well $6 now. My feelings with BK were like yours until it happens to me again. McD’s isn’t as bad but if I go time without it does mess with me a lil. Wendy’s is the only one that doesn’t mess with me and is good when I go. BK breakfast is still a go to though, just the whopper is what gets me…. Que lastima 😞

Buns are dirt cheap. Potatoes cost next to nothing. Shouldn't cost more than a dollar for a head of lettuce. Proteins are what food industries spend large amounts of money on. A burger with $2 worth of ingredients should not be $7. I'd pay $4 for one to also contribute to the shipping costs and wage for the worker who assembled it. Burger King visits are once every 2-4 months for me. McDonald trips are once every 7 years and last I recall the friendly atmosphere is *LONG* gone and anything from the menu gives me stomach pain within a few minutes. Body isn't used to processing 100 chemicals all at once. What little fast food I consume is to break the monotony of my typical meals. If they folded up soon then it wouldn't worry me.
