I think she loves him but doesn't want to get serious because that'll make things harder on her. Like how she realized he didn't love her as much as she loved him in the early stages of their relationship. And how they lost the baby. She doesn't want to go through that stuff again. But hopefully she'll see, especially after last episode, that he's grown over the years, knows what he wants, and isn't going to be irrational about it.

Hard core Chicago PD fan here who loves me some Adam. He has always been transparent regarding his feelings for Burgess. I am almost to the point to where I want them to go their separate ways due to Kim's attitude. It may be temporary but right now not feeling her character and I hope her actions going forward to change my mind. Frankly, I really want the showrunners to let Atwater (my fave) to have a decent social and love life. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever for a man that juicy to not have a vibrant love life.😨😵😉😜

I sure hope they can talk it out. I was not liking that dialogue between them. Hopefully when Adam clears his head & tries to understand where Kim was coming from, they’ll get it together. He had one helluva shift Thursday that will take time to comprehend all of the events that took place. Not to mention he killed the perk. It all came at him so fast, he was just reacting with zero time to really think things through. As he said to Voight, “that’s my father”. We know they have had a shaky relationship at times & this loan with the sharks was like icing on the cake for Adam, but he wasn’t going to let him get killed. Burzek looked so cozy making dinner plans. They have to get officially back together!!!

I think it'll open her eyes to the man he's become. She's been so distant because they've had so much on and off time with their relationship to the point where she doesn't know what she wants and he used to be irrational with their relationship. But I think seeing that he thinks things through and knows what he really wants will show her that he's changed

@@venusmoodie4874 true and I agree about how she felt initially. But as we’ve seen over the years, Adam is and will always be in love with her. She’s the love of his life and always has been. With Kim, it’s different. There was a time when he was the love of hers but that shifted over the years. She was capable of having relationships outside of him. However, the present Adam we know now has grown and matured and learned what he wants out of life (and for him that’s a life with Kim). Does Kim love him the same way that he loves her or is she merely reminded of his familiarity and finds comfort in that? The last episode shows exactly that. Granted there’s arguments for both of them being right in what happened this past episode, it is absolutely soul crushing knowing that the one person who is supposed to believe in you no matter what can think so lowly of you...it changes you.

I think she's just scared to go further with him because of all they've been through. In the beginning she loved him more than he loved her and that was kind of like a wake up call for her, that maybe this wouldn't work out. The engagement break off really hurt her and she probably doesn't want to go through that again. Then they lost the baby and she blames herself. She wants to distance herself so that they don't get so serious and she'll have to go through more hardship. She doesn't really see how much he's grown. I feel like after the latest episode she'll finally be able to see that he's not as irrational as he used to be. He's got more control now and thinks things through, maybe this'll further their relationship because she'll finally see that.

The problem is that he never tells her how much he loves her and she fears that he might just want to be with her because he feels like that is the right thing to do. Once he proposed to her because she was pregnant for example. Or after they hooked up this season, he said "Or we could do the thing were we sleep together on a regular basis - that'd be called dating" I mean her fears are definitely reasonable. What bothers me is that she literally told him what she wants: She wants someone who's all in. Marriage, Family, Commitment. And that would have been the moment for Adam to clear things up and to tell her that he truly loves her because of her and not because he feels committed

And when Adam tells him that if he wanted to go to dinner so he could talk he also tells him that they would turn off her radio so as not to be interrupted and that's when Kim notifies him that she would take Makayla to her house. That slowed things down.

Its Kim's fault that they aren't together she let Roman into her head about his previous relationships even though he knew nothing about their relationship and then kim did that dumb push test that roman told her about and she did it and it caught poor adam off guard he thought it was a inncoent statement and not a test and she slept with the same guy that ruined her life and then adam had no idea untill the court episode and then after they broke up she didn't even want to fixs things with adam she moved on like nothing and she didn't look back about how she hurt adam she should be ashamed of herself. Adam ruzek deserves way better or by himself or should have a kid of his own to rise.
