I wonder if the course designers actually tried this out for themselves before deciding that this was the absolute best course they could come up with. Top horses and riders shouldn't find themselves struggling so much over the same obstacle. If the fence in the first video was moved back a stride or two so the horse had time to see it and prepare themselves, fewer incidents would have happened, I think.

Just dumb luck that another horse or rider wasn't killed. It should be exceedingly rare to have serious falls and rotational falls, yet in evening, it's almost expected. I stopped doing 3 day at 16 when my friend's horse was killed at a water jump in front of me. No one should be ok with rising their horse's life with every outing. I have done high-level SJ since my teens, and while accidents still happen, they are few and far between.

The horses were all struggling with the same obstacles over and over, I don't think the course was properly designed because they should not make them struggle like this over the same jumps

Cross country solid obstacles and the falls they cause is god awful and so dangerous for the horses
