Thank you so much for this comment, Aimee. It’s sometimes hard, I think, for people to accept that doing things differently doesn’t mean it’s wrong. And we surely have to do things differently than most up here. You made my day. Thanks for your very kind words. Stay warm out there friend. 😊

Hey Roy! That’s pretty cold for you guys! Were pretty tough around here and every winter it dumps snow like this 2-3 times. 😊 I think last year we got a total of 21’ for the whole winter! Us Willowbillies own lots of plows and snow blowers. Ha! Stay warm friend and have a blessed Christmas.

Wow. Now THAT'S a good start on a winters snow, hmmm?? I think your camera skills are 2nd only to your STUNT SKILLS! 🥴 I bet that big, overhead, bucket 'O snow took some sweet talking to get Mr Reeve to get him to agree to it. You're a little wackadoo!! 😉🤣 Great video for those of us who are into the snow, etc. Poor piggos. Poor goose feet. So early in the season for a guy to get buried up to his.....butt ... in snow, dontcha think? Gonna be a really l o n g winter if the beginning is any indicator! We've been getting wave after wave of rain for the last couple weeks. Stack some wood, stay warm, repeat. 😉😎🙏

@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska 10 ай бұрын
When the sun is out, it can reflect off the snow, and make it really hard to see. Also, when it’s overcast out, there’s no shadows to define where the snow is or isn’t sometimes. Both of those conditions make it hard to see and so we wear sunglasses.

Hey friend. thanks for your comments! It’s awesome that you’re sharing your adventures on your channel too. 😊 You are definitely right in that the frame will totally support tons of weight. We got a discount on this conex because the skin on the top was compromised and dented. Things have to handle 90 pounds per square foot of snow-load in our area. Just hoping to keep this structure from collapsing. Ha! Stay warm out there, Merry Christmas and may you always have safe travels.

@missmothertrucker4161 - I know everybody thinks those containers are super strong... I used to think so too. Their strength is in the perimeter of them- where they stack. The roof isn't as strong as I thought. I did some research looking at using the one we have as an underground cold storage. Look at some of the videos on KZbin & it'll amaze you! It's pretty scary for the ones that were going to use them as storm shelters, etc. Just be careful. They aren't that strong on the roof. God bless you & yours. 🙏

What size tractor is that? I see it is a New Holland. How do you like it? I'm looking into getting one.
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska Жыл бұрын
Hey friend, it’s a LSXG3025, same color blue as a new Holland though. Ha! The small new hollands are built by LS anyhow. Great tractor. Got it from Dave’s Tractor in wasilla. Dave’s a good family man. If we had to do it over again we’d probably get one with a touch more power. It has been indispensable, however. We got one big enough to lift a 1600 pound moose if need be, that was our purchasing prerequisite. Ha!

WHY DONT YOU HAVE A PLOW ON YOUR TRUCK? ESPECIALLY HAVING ANIMALS
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska Жыл бұрын
Hey friend! Good question! We actually have two plows! One on our Kawasaki Mule, and one on our pickup. We use the snowblower on the back of the tractor instead, because the plow will push some of the snow through the fence and into their pens, particularly when we get such a big dump of snow! Thanks for watching and stay warm out there!
