Burley-Travoy (not only) a bicycle luggage solution

Hello everyone,
once again I thought about how I can take my luggage with me on multi-day tours without having to attach large bags to the front of the bike. I came across the Burley-Travoy trailer online.
It is quite well made, but also has its price. But unfortunately it also has some "misdesigns" and that's exactly what I show in my video and how it can be repaired and improved.

Ganz herzlichen Dank für das Video - Ingineurarbeit & Video war sicher viel Arbeit. Die Info betreffend Verriegelung hat mir zuerst mal geholfen um das System zu verstehen, welche Variante ich dann anwende weiss ich noch nicht. Auch das Problem mit der Anhängerkupplung ist mir bekannt, werde aber nichts machen in der gezeigten Lösung weil das schlicht zuviel Mechanikerarbeit ist für mich. Versuche deshalb Fahrrad und Burley vertikal zu halten, was natürlich nicht immer gelingt, insbesondere wenn man Kurven fährt 😊

Danke, ja es war viel Arbeit. Obwohl es hielt sich in Grenzen. Viel entscheidender ist es dute Ideen zu haben. Ideen und Konstruieren gehörten 47 Jahren zu meinem Job als Projektmanager. Und vieles habe ich auch selbst gebaut und getestet. Leider habe ich nun als Rentner nicht mehr den Zugriff auf die erforderlichen Maschienen die ich bräuchte um es richtig profesionell machen zu können. Nur frage ich mich bei solch einem "Markenprodukt", was dort wohl für "Vollpfosten" in der Entwicklungsabteilung sitzen. VG

@@Fahrradkanal mit den Vollpfosten haste absolut recht. Doch das gibt dir immerhin die Möglichkeit in kreativer Weise auf deine Berufserfahrung zurückzugreifen 😀. Einen herzlichen Rentnergruss aus der Schweiz

Darauf zurückgreifen zu MÜSSEN ist angesichts dieses stolzen Preises für ein Markenprodukt nicht akzeptabel. Was würden wohl die Leute sagen, wenn ihr Apple Iphon nur richtig funktioniert wenn sie es ruhig und VERTIKAL halten? 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you very much, I was hoping that the video recording would explain itself a little. I had already started to start a subtext version in English. But it's a lot of work. Thank you, I'm glad you like it. Basically, the Burley Travoy is a great trailer. I will take it with me this year as a luggage trolley for one or the other bike tour. Of course there is also a video about it. Greetings

Hello @berbet., I would like to do that with one restriction. It was very difficult for me to make the aluminum rod a little thinner without a lathe. That's the reason why I unfortunately have to reject it. But otherwise the parts can all be obtained from Amazon or eBay without any problems (I added the Afilate links in the text description). You then have to saw them to the appropriate length. And drill one or two holes and cut threads. If you are a little handy and have good tools, you can do it yourself. But I'm thinking again about making a conversion kit. However, this would only be possible again in autumn/winter. Because from now on (spring) the time begins again for me where I will be out and about by bike as much as possible. Craft time is always in autumn/winter to spring.
